Very cool engine pics. I have had an opportunity to see this bike torn down in a demo over at Matt's shop as well. I suppose it goes with out saying, but this bike is such a game changer, like nothing I've ever seen before.

the 1040 kit is a very cool motor, makes 1098 power but in a more over square configuration and it still has the lighter 848 crank so it'll still turn in like an 848. Not that that has been anything to right home about but less rotating weight on something like the crank should make the bike feel "lighter" on turn in. Besides, wasn't the 848 already in the heavy twins categories? I thought the 749 was the biggest twin you could run in the lightweight.

First off, this is going to be a very cool thread, so haters please go back to the gun threads. He's not showing off, he races and he's got a new race bike to build. This is cool stuff and what makes reading a MOTORCYCLE FORUM cool. Hating on him because he is more fortunate than you is retarded. 2nd, I happen to know 1 other guy building an 1199 race bike also affiliated with Ducati and he's taking the exact same route. building a bike based on the stock bike seems to be the best way to go. The electronic ohlins is cool but there isn't much need for all that fanciness on a race track. It makes a lot of sense IMO. It just seems that dollars for performance Brian has this worked out very well. Unless you are someone like Larry Pegram who has the money and sponsors to start with an R bike, starting with a base model just seems to be the best way to go. 3rd, the frame or lack there of on the GP bikes is just not the same as the frame on the race bike based on the production bike. I mean, the GP bike is a 4 cylinder, do you need to know anything else to know they are completely different bikes. It's just a silly argument. Why will the 1199 be competitive in world super bike? How bout it's 195hp twin as a starting point. The 1199 is the first game changing bike in a long time. I personally can't wait to see it in more racing leagues to see how well the technology does, but if nothing else, that motor is amazing. The way it makes power with only 2 cylinders is mind blowing.

Now, because I can just hear the Atheist trolls firing up their "No True Scotsman fallacy" engines, Understand that WSBC is not a church in ANY traditional sense of the meaning other than they are a unified group and they have regular meetings. In that respect they are as much a church as your local NAMBLA affliate group. If you look down the WSBC roster you will see that first of all, they are ALL related to one another either by marriage or by birth. It's basically the Phelps clan with some other family appendages. Secondly, you may notice that all or nearly all of the Phelpses are LAWYERS. In fact, they are all very accomplished tort lawyers and/or law staff. When you look at their history you will see that they ALWAYS sue people that assault them, and they almost always win. They have made MILLIONS off of suing people that attack them for their repugnant views. This is also how they manage to remain classified a church; They are based in a state where church classification rules are loose, and they utilize that and their status as lawyers to keep that classification. (Saves on taxes when the Church makes all the money.) Then they go out and set up situations where they will likely be assaulted just to make money off of the poor righteous bastards that want to go after them. They keep the threat of violence reasonably low by filming everything and bringing women and children along as human shields, and then when one of them inevitably gets punched or shoved or pushed or gets a hangnail, they sue everyone there, especially any families that are involved in the events they are protesting at. This is why I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Freedom Riders. Basically a motorcycle gang that specifically follows the WSBC around whenever they protest a soldier's funeral. they surround them and then block them from view with HUGE signs and American flags and drown them out with revving Harley Davidson motorcycles. They never touch anyone from WSBC, but they prevent them from causing any emotional harm to the families of dead soldiers. They've been so effective the Phelpses have nearly abandoned going after soldier's funerals. This is why I say that the Phelpses are NOT a Christian church. They are just a bunch of dirty lawyers using hate and law to make money hand over fist. I suspect that they may very well believe at least some of the bile they spew, but it is FAR more about money than it is about faith. Frankly, if not for the fact that they seem to be so much about making money hand over fist I'd almost suspect they were an attempt to troll Christianity and tax law surrounding the churches.

That's a tough call. I'm glad they put pro against pro though. I think that gives the best controlled outcome. Laptimes are a very dynamic thing, even amoung pros.

And..... bikes are faster than cars. Point driven home again. Only time I've seen a car win one of these races is when they extend a drag race so far that a car reaches over 200mph.
