  5. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,538935,00.html?test=latestnews Russia is grappling with a major public health crisis in which residents are essentiallydrinking and smoking themselves to death, according to the country’s public health officials. About a million Russians die each year from alcohol- and smoking-related causes -- between 600,000 and 700,000 of those deaths are attributed to drinking alone, Andrei Demin, of Russia’s Public Health Association, told Fox News. “It’s threatening the future of the country,” he said. The problem? Unlike other countries, Russia has refused to levy hefty taxes on cigarettes and alcohol to discourage drinking and smoking. The resulting statistics are staggering: — The average Russian drinks 50 bottles of vodka a year. — A bottle of beer can be purchased on the street for less than the cost of a bottle of water. — Twelve million of Russia’s 141 million residents have died over the past 15 years due to alcohol-and smoking-related causes. — A pack of cigarettes can be purchased for about 30 cents. — The average Russian male lives to be 60 years old, dying 15 years earlier than his American counterpart. Russian women die 13 years earlier than American women. Although the country has launched a series of television commercials encouraging Russians to choose healthier lifestyles, many critics say this is of little benefit. So far, Russian President Vladimir Putin has refused recommendations to raise taxes on cigarettes and alcohol, with some health critics saying the Kremlin would the Russian public stay “pacified and anesthetized."
  6. welcome to the site and enjoy!
  7. I know and believe Stalin was worse, he killed more Jews than Hitler did and also killed millions of his own people with full public knowledge. I have a severe distrust of Russians especially since the incident with Georgia recently. i took a class recently on the history of Intelligence, this class went in depth on Russian Intelligence and since the beginning of the Russian Empire there have been horrible, atrocious, "intelligence" services that are many time no more that death squads (going back to in some instances to the 14th century when they wore black armor and essentially pillaged the countryside to gain obedience). Also look at the casualty numbers for Russian from WWII, it is around 10,000,000 military deaths alone with total number dead is over 23,000,000! That is over 14 percent of their population. This man sent millions of troops to there deaths, many times without weapons to use as human shields...there is a lot more i could say but i will hold here... Oh and dont get me started on Japanese brutality during WWII (none of these comments are meant to be racist be any means)
  8. Prayers sent mang! Keep positive thoughts, it's the absolute best thing you can do for her.
  9. From what i know and what i have read the concealed carry law is the same as in a car, in this case it would have to be on you just as if you were walking down the street or in a closed bag (i.e. backpack). From what my concealed carry book says on open carry there are no laws regulating open carry in Ohio Transporting in Motor Vehicles The transportation of loaded, concealed handguns in motor vehicles is permitted, but strict obligations are imposed by the law to protect you and law enforcement. These obligations apply to drivers and occupants. These obligations do not apply if you are storing a firearm for any lawful purpose and it is not on your person or you are lawfully storing or possessing a firearm in your home. You may not have a loaded handgun in the vehicle if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you have a concealed carry permit, you may not transport a loaded, concealed handgun in a vehicle unless it is carried in one of the following ways: 14 • The loaded handgun is in a holster secured on the person. Ohio law previously required carrying firearms in a holster in plain sight. The “plain sight” provision has been removed from the law. • The loaded handgun is in a closed case, bag, box, or other container that is in plain sight and that has a lid, a cover, or a closing mechanism with a zipper, snap, or buckle, which lid, cover or closing mechanism must be opened for a person to gain access to the handgun, or • The loaded handgun is securely encased by being stored in a closed, glove compartment or console, or in a case that is locked. Motorcycles fall under the definition of motor vehicles. Thus, the same requirements apply to licensees who carry a handgun while on a motorcycle. Open Carry Ohio’s concealed carry laws do not regulate “open” carry of firearms. If you openly carry, use caution. The open carry of firearms is a legal activity in Ohio.

  18. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/07/man-offers-goats-cows-chelsea-clintons-hand-marriage/?test=latestnews AIROBI, Kenya - A Kenyan man's offer of 40 goats and 20 cows for Chelsea Clinton's hand in marriage may still be on the table — and Hillary Rodham Clinton has promised to convey the "very kind offer" to her daughter. To laughter at a town hall meeting Thursday in Kenya, CNN's Fareed Zakaria asked the U.S. Secretary of State if the Clintons had made a decision on the dowry offer. In 2000, a Kenyan man wrote to then-president Bill Clinton offering the animals in accordance with African tradition. After a pause, Clinton said, "My daughter is her own person, very independent, so I will convey this very kind offer." Clinton has denied rumors that her daughter, 29, is planning to get married this summer.
