great work I hate trying to explain what Ohio Riders is. Is it a club? Not really; there's no set membership rules or anything. Is it a gang? No, not unless you consider the tormenting of the Ohio sheep population but a subset of our members to be gang activity. Saying "oh its an online motorcycle forum" sounds profoundly nerdy and is very misleading. Usually I just say "it's a group of people I ride motorcycles with"...that's not quite right either but it's the easiest thing to say that requires the least explanation.

Noob from Westerville...already went down on my first day..

I just crashed in Johnstown last weekend Maybe that will fill your "first crash quota" for you? God knows mine has been full for a while haha -
The last ride was fun but way too short (though I know the Columbus crowd and myself in particular are to blame for that, seeing as we showed up at least an hour late ) This whole week has been a nightmare, and I hope to forget all about it whilst riding the wheels off of my bike this weekend

Welcome! Hey at least you got your first crash out of the way and it was pretty minor; we all go down at some point Hit me up any time you wanna ride, I'm always up for some seat time! -
Only if the environment is under 2 years of age and chokes on one. The environment is such a whiny little bitch sometimes.

How early, 9 or 10? I can be at the McDonald's whenever, I just gotta plan ahead a bit cuz it's an ~hour ride there. You planning on riding most of the day? I wanna get a lot of miles in
-
That's really cool. I kind of wanna make a few hundred and spontaneously decorate campus one night. Most of the RPAC is metal, right?
-
Looks really nice. This reminds me of the last time I was at Lowes. They had a big slab of countertop granite outside with a sign on it advertising that it was on sale and had an 8 year warranty. 8 years? It's GRANITE. What the hell did they do to reduce the expected life of a ROCK to EIGHT YEARS? I just thought it was a funny observation

When/where do you guys usually start these rides? Just trying to plan my weekend...I've got too much riding I wanna do and not enough days in the weekend to do it
-
Ahh damn, I guess that counts me out
-
That is freakin' awesome...I'm really considering doing this. I'd be all over track riding if I had the resources to do so, but 195$ and no risk to my own ride is a killer deal

I am so utterly confused. Wtf are these threads about
-
I'd be all over them if they didn't run 379$ for a set Plus they make 650r's look like ass...the OEM footpeg stays may be silly looking, but the frame area they hide is downright hideous.

That was absolutely freaking awesome. I love that kind of stuff...the style, the attention to detail (like how the birds fell out of the sky), the dystopian future feel. Amazing Not to mention the HUD the guy put on...that type of HUD/internet interface has been a nerd fetish/dream of mine for as long as I can remember Something tells me you might like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1UPMEmCqZo Obviously it's way more Half-Life related than just the sounds, but it's still damn cool

I've known about that for a few years; I used to see that gathering every weekend when I lived on south campus. I figured they were mostly squids who preferred to stand around and talk about how sweet their bike is and then go do stupid shit on the streets mostly for attention and such. If I remember right, I rarely saw helmets ON people's heads (always strapped to the side of the bike, if they even had one at all) and jackets seemed to exist purely for fashion. I could be totally wrong though; I mostly viewed the 7/11 group through the eyes of a non-rider because I myself didn't start riding until after that first year on campus.

So I'm really in need of new foot pegs. The right one is broken in half and the left is fairly banged up too. Replacement OEM ones are 45$ a pop, plus another 6$/side if I want to replace those little "lean feeler" things (probably wouldn't waste the money though)...which is way too steep for my tastes. I can get a set of Competiton Werks pegs for 50$ + shipping, but I'm curious if maybe Iron Pony or someplace wouldn't have some for sale? How interchangable are foot pegs? If I could find someone with an old used right peg for a Kawi (or other brand) bike that they'd be willing to part with, I'd be willing to buy that and call it a day right there. Any ideas? I'm mostly curious if I should just buy the 50$ set or try to go the second-hand route and save some cash. Thanks!

I was thinking about heading down to Hocking and playing on 555 and such, but a trip to Coshocton would be pretty damn fun too...

I'd vote to abolish it too in a heartbeat given the option, but he is being realistic and sees that we're stuck with it for now so we may as well try to at least clean it up so it stops killing out economy.

newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=538&name=Batteries-AC-Adapters) is the best electronics/computer parts store I've ever bought from. Their prices are really good and their service/shipping is second to none. You can also check pricegrabber.com; you can sometimes find amazing deals there. A new battery for my digital camera runs about 60$ new from Sony, but I can pick up a few used ones from a store on Pricegrabber for 12$ each.

I used to be really in to them in high school, but as soon as I hit college I started noticing bikes more and more and by the end of freshmen year I had to have one. I was originally going to buy an 05-06 GTO, but decided that the practicality of a 4-wheeled vehicle was just something I had no use for () and went with a bike instead. Saved myself about 15 grand and am having WAY more fun than if I had gone with a car I figure once I get a real career going that I'll probably still pick up an 06 GTO in Phantom Black Metallic with the 18" rim package and 6-speed. I freaking love those cars

Alright so I checked some maps and figure that yeah, it may be a bit of a ride to get out to Dayton, but living in Columbus means I've got about an hour ride to hit the twisties no matter where I go (Hocking, Coshocton), so the extra 20 or so miles to Dayton won't kill me However, now that I've decided I wanna do this, I can almost promise that I'll be working 6am-2pm on Sunday. I won't know until late thursday/early friday though, so I'll post back here once I know. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get out at 10 if I do work, and can meet you guys somewhere along your route...but here's hoping that won't be needed.

It's a shame that he was so horribly downplayed and didn't get nearly the amount of exposure he deserves (let alone elected...) but he's still out there fighting hard to help bring some sanity to our country. His bill (HR 1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, see link below) is something I think we've needed for many, many years, and it looks to be gaining some momentum...55 cosponsors is nothing to scoff at. Getting the Fed under control is paramount to our financial survival. Too bad nobody will just abolish the goddamn thing, but an audit and more transparency are welcome changes. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-1207
