  1. I know this probably isn't a track-ready solution, but I bought a Sony DSC-t90 point-and-shoot to use for helmet cam vids and it works quite well. Sounds stupid, but the camera is small enough that I can set it in my helmet and close the visor and it sits just below my eyes and doesn't block my vision of the road at all (I have to tilt my head down some to see my gauges but who cares?) and isn't annoying to ride with. It almost shoots along my exact eyeline and because it sits in my helmet, it doesn't get much wind noise and if I feel like it I can talk and it picks up my voice crystal clear, along with the bike noises and other ambient stuff. It shoots pretty nice 720p video and I can get 60 minutes on a 4gb memory stick (which cost me like 17$ with free shipping, you just have to know where to go) in two 30-minute video files. It's a really simple solution that doesn't take much effort or set-up, and it's also a damn nice 12.0 megapixel point-and-shoot to boot. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there.
  2. Sounds like a lot of fun...if I'm still in Columbus [summer plans are still up in the air :\] I'll definitely show up for this
  3. I've been thinking of teaching my girlfriend to ride. I think I'll do a bit of 'classroom' stuff first; give her my handbook from the BRC so she can learn the controls and such before she even gets on the bike. I think a decent theoretical knowledge would help a lot before actually getting on 2 wheels.
  4. No promises, but if I can make it to this ride I'll have my camera with me and be taking a bunch of pics whenever possible and probably some 720p helmet cam video if my battery/memory card holds out long enough. Any info on start time/meeting place etc? I really wanna make this ride; it's at the end of finals week and I'll need to unwind

    New boots

Those things are definitely the way to go. Bought a pair new at the Pony over the winter and they've been worth every penny. I've found that sticking a pair of insoles in them really helps with the off-bike comfort; without my insoles I can only tolerate them for short trips into a gas station or something, but with a pair of em in the boots I can wander about all day in total comfort
  6. http://ohio-riders.net/showthread.php?t=26939 Just in case ya didn't see the thread...looks to be a really fun ride
  7. Sorry to hear it, but at least you weren't hurt
  8. Looks epic but it's quite a trek out there. I'd be up for a ride out there as long as there were a good deal more twisties involved in the ride...one 11.5 mile road is not worth a 2 hour trip :\
  9. I see absolutely NO reason to NOT be an organ doner. If I go down and don't get back up, I hope that every last salvageable part of me goes to someone who needs it...and the rest will probably go to science
  10. Sounds like a good time. I wanna take that sometime this summer but I've got a laundry list of other things I have to pay for before I can afford the course
  11. I might come up but it depends on how late you guys plan on riding...I work till 2 PM and the earliest I could be up in Coshocton would be about 3
  12. I rode a short section of 555 on Friday; it has POTENTIAL to be an amazing road but it's just too messy to be ridden aggressively in the portion I saw. No HUGE patches of gravel, but enough scattered all over the entire road to force you to keep your speeds down. The road could also use a resurfacing. If it had a cleaner and smoother surface, it'd be a blast. Keep in mind that this opinion only pertains to a small section of the road...I forget exactly what part but I'll post that up later, probably along with a video I took of the ride.
  13. I love 1125r's. I'm hoping to be on one myself next season Gunna pay off my debts this summer, save up a down payment during fall, and try to sell the 650 over the winter or trade it in on an 1125 in the spring Woot!
  14. I might be in; I've already got a Hocking ride planned for Friday consisting of 555, 78, and a few other roads, but I'd love to get another ride in this weekend seeing as I havn't had a really good ride in like...3 weeks :| I'll keep an eye on this thread and see where it leads.
  15. My avatar approves of your screen name.

  16. ...recession? What recession? Have enough fun on your trip for the rest of us poor bastards back here
  17. Congrats! Glad you're enjoying it so much My girlfriend is already wanting an 08 red Ninja 250 after only less than 3 weeks of being exposed to my bike
  18. I saw 2 dudes on a Ducati 999 at Lane and High the other day
  19. Looks like a fat chick convention
  20. My dad recorded the Kawi episode for me and we watched it over the weekend...REALLY cool show. Gunna have to try to torrent it or something...
  21. That's about the messiest collection I've ever seen lol. Not that it's a bad thing, but it's funny when compared to someone like Jay Leno who has an amazing collection of vehicles and a garage/storage facility to match. Fabio, build a big building for all your bikes and move em out of the tent and trailer!
  22. Nice bike Lose the swing arm and you'll see why bikes > cars As for tires, you can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot Power's or Pirelli Diablo Rosso's. Anything softer/more exotic (like Corsa 3's or Power 2CT's) would be overkill and expensive.
