  1. Is there a set end time to this? I might swing by later in the afternoon.
  2. Wow, I just read this thread from the first page all the way through, and by about page 8 I had completely forgotten what the thread was supposed to be about
  3. I'd probably be wearing Sharks if they actually fit me. They damn near rip my ears off every time I try one on; the only ones I can put on without much agony are ones that are way too big for me.
  4. Picked up some stuff called Fog Off! at Iron Pony, the salesmen said it's the best he's used so far. Put it on outside the store and it worked pretty well. Right in front of my nose still got fairly foggy, but the majority of the visor was just fine; before I put it on the whole thing fogged over like crazy. I think I might wash the entire visor and re-apply it really carefully and let it sit for a few hours before taking it back out; might work even better.
  5. Thanks for the info everyone. I think what I'll do is head to the Pony and check out that Cat Crap stuff first, because I was going to go there today anyway to buy some bike washing supplies. If that doesn't work, then I'll check out a diving store or something. My issue with the Pinlock inserts is that A) they're pricey and B) I've got a clear and a dark smoke visor I switch out somewhat regularly and that both fog up fairly badly, but the dark smoke doesn't have the pinlock pins and thus I'd be dropping 25-35$ on something that I can only use half the time I ride If I get this sorted out and working I'll post a little snippet of what I'm working on. It's nothing amazing, just something I've been wanting to with my riding for a while
  6. Hm, might warrant a look around. Never woulda guessed there'd be anything of the sort around here.
  7. Think it's called a breath box. I've got a removable one that came with the helmet but it doesn't help that much, and I can't use it at all with the project I'm doing. Chemicals or some sort of cling thingy is about all I can think of that would work, because I don't have any extra space in my helmet with what I'm doing I looked around the Iron Pony site and saw nothing that might be what I need; I might call them tomorrow and see if they've got any ideas. Maybe check out a nautical equipment store...cuz I'm sure there's sooo many of those around Columbus :\
  8. So I've started a little project that requires my visor to stay as fog-free as possible, but alas, my new helmet really really likes to fog up, especially on cold days. Normally I'd just pop the visor open and let the air take care of it, but that's not an option for what I need to do, and the less air moving around in front of my face...the better, meaning I use my chin curtain and keep the front vent closed as well, which keeps things quiet but really makes fogging bad. Are there any chemicals out there that'll help? I can buy an insert for my shield but they're really expensive, and it'd only work with one of my visors. I know my dad used to have stuff on our old boat that we'd use in our diving masks that helped, but I have no idea what it was called nor where to look for it. Any ideas?
  9. Not sure if the fact that I do listen to Coldplay helped or hurt me...
  10. A uranium pu-38 space modulator?! But with that, you could blow up the earth! Man if I had a ton of money I'd give you my bike and 5 grand just to see what sort of crazy stuff you could come up with; your work is really cool
  11. :beating:For great justice! Glad to hear they're finally manning up and doing what needs to be done. This kind of bad rep is terrible for dealerships, I'm shocked it took them this long to come around.
  12. That sounds like a really good idea. Weekly might get a bit old and might not have as big a turnout as a bi-weekly one would have, but that could be debated endlessly and would best be decided by trial and error I bet. The monthly non-Columbus one sounds ~awesome~, it'd give those of us who are fairly restricted to one area a chance to get out and see new cities and meet other people outside of our own town That would be epic. Half the fun of group rides for me is meeting people and hanging out in person with the folks from the board. Riding all day and then a cookout with friends in the evening is basically the definition of nirvana for many motorcyclists, I believe
  13. As far as time and place goes...tuesday nights @ QSL = all you can eat wings. Enough said.
  14. FINALLY a lunch I can make! Cazulea's is about a block from my house and I don't have class till 12:30, so I can swing by to say hi and munch some nachos
  15. It really is a decent OS. It might not be terribly good for enterprise use, as Casper is often quick to point out because of its several compatibility issues and whatnot, but for the typical home user it's really good. I've been using it since September with absolutely no issues, and I really like some of the features it has over XP. That being said, I do have a pretty beefy rig and I personally wouldn't even bother using it over XP on a laptop that wasn't rather high-end.
  16. PM me if you're actually looking to get a copy of XP.
  17. Dunham was hilarious until he did that recent special. "HAY GUYS LETS BE RACIST, IT'S OK CUZ WE'RE PROUD TO BE AMURICANS!" That about sums up the entire fiasco. If you guys want some good stand up, check out the Comedians of Comedy and some other guys like Daniel Tosh or [the tragically late] Mitch Hedberg. At least their stuff is original and doesn't revolve around the horribly overplayed crutch of "playing with stereotypes" and that bullshit. *edit* Also, check our Larry's stuff before he became Larry the Cable Guy. Pre-Larry Larry, or Daniel Whitney, was actually a pretty good comedian in his own right before he adopted the act full-time.
  18. Glad to hear you're making progress on this. I know I'd flip out if I had to throw in the towel on the season this early in just because of a shitty dealership. Hope you guys fix everything soon Major props to Gixxie and everyone helping out!
  19. 65 hp 41.73 ft/lbs Arrow slip-on, baffles removed, sub-throttle plates removed, PAIR valve plugged. Certainly not the most powerful bike there, or even up near the average power for the day by a long shot, but I'm proud of it I'll hopefully be on something bigger for next season's dyno day (assuming we're allowed back )
  20. WhoDey probably looks like this now
  21. Argh, as you can probably tell, I won't be riding today after all. Managed to sleep through half the day and seeing how it's about 45 mins to an hour ride to anywhere fun, there's not much point of going out now I guess.

I'm definitely going to try to get out next weekend at least once; I'll give ya a heads up if you wanna come along.

  22. That was a great event Thanks to Brian and everyone running the dyno, you guys did an amazing job getting everyone through there. Good meeting everyone
  23. AAAARGH. So I went out last night for a friends surprise birthday party and forgot to set an alarm for this morning when I got in. The result is me waking up at 2 on a day where it's supposed to rain in the evening and an hour ride to and from anywhere with good riding. Looks like I've screwed myself out of a nice day of riding. Sorry for wasting people's time with this thread
  24. I have a hell of a time not sneaking up the right hand side at a turn when there are cars in front of me, and then turning on red. It's so damn tempting, especially when there are 5+ cars and the asshole in front decided to stay in the right lane and go straight instead of going in the left lane and letting everyone else turn on red.
