  1. The thing about legalization that worries me is that there's the possibility that the government stuff wont be as good as the stuff we've got now...
  2. wait, today is sunday? shit.

I've never cared about Star Trek before, but this movie looks damn cool
  4. Been there, done that guys Yota gave me Chris's number and I had the rubber done last Sunday
  5. Wow, looks like a whole new bike. I like it
  6. He said he would be out of town this past week when I contacted him about some tire work; dunno if he's still gone or not though.

    09 r1

All that sexy, and they f it up with those stupid front turn signals. Stalk signals belong on bikes made before, say, 2000 or 2001, not on a 2009 literbike...cmon Yamaha, get with the program :\

    Bike idea's

As an owner and rider of a 650r for the past 3 seasons, I feel fairly comfortable saying that it'd be a good fit for your needs. I don't do any trips nearly as long as Ohio to Florida, but I do ride ~150 mile trips on the freeway regularly, and it's not at all a problem on this bike. I've done a ~400 mile trip to Kentucky once, and stopping for gas was about the only break I needed. The stock bars on this bike are really high and allow for a very comfortable riding position. The stock seat and windscreen are both very forgiving for long rides, but if you can spare no expense then you can upgrade to a windscreen and seat that will really turn this bike into a touring bike, and Givi makes a good set of hard luggage for it that can complete the package if that's what you're into. If the original ninja650r.com forum hadn't self-destructed, I could link you to several photo albums of people doing 4000+ and 6000+ mile trips on 650's. However, you can check out atlasrider.com and youtube.com/atlasrider for some living proof of the 650r's touring abilities; that guy has recently sold his car to live with only a bike, and his passion is long-distance riding and touring and the bike is nearly stock ergonomically. His website has some great info about long distance riding with the 650r. And I havn't even touched on the sporty side of the bike Without getting too long winded, I can say that when you throw a 650r into a corner, you won't be dissapointed Lemmie know if you've got any specific questions about the bike, I'd be happy to answer em.
  9. Exactly my situation :\ Thankfully I'm in Finance which isn't as demanding as engineering (thank god I bailed on that gig)
  10. Oh quit whining, you're only in Engineering, it's not like you guys ever have any actual work to do anyway
  11. I can't make any calls just yet...gotta see how school pans out. This could be a very smooth, gentle quarter or a brutal, county prison-style quarter depending on how a few of my classes go. If it's the latter I might not have time for much other than eat, sleep, work, study
  12. Sidi's are the shiznit. I've put maybe 300 miles on my new Vertigo's and I could not be happier. Yeah they were a bit pricey, but they are unbelievably comfortable and if push came to shove, I think I would be fine going down in them.
  13. I can't make any comparisons to popular rubber like Pilot Power's or Metzler M3's, but I just put a set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso's on my bike and couldn't be happier. They grip like glue and warm up really quickly.
  14. Man, if I were on decent terms with my roommate last year I'd have you email him...the dude was a bow hunting fanatic and could probably appraise it in a second. At one point last year we had at least 4 or 5 pieces of deer carcass in various places of our room :| If you do bow stuff at OSU you probably know him though...
  15. I'm in. One shirt, medium. Yeah, Brian is probably looking at this list going "what the F was I thinking?"
  16. I'm really looking forward to getting back to campus and getting back into cycling. I have really bad feet and can't run as exercise, so I've been planning to start riding my bike regularly. My dad just hooked me up with one of his old bikes and I plan on riding that trail along the Olentangy fairly regularly. I've never done mountain biking, but I'd really like to try it once I get my lower body in shape. My brother is really into it, but me going out riding with him would be roughly the equivalent of a guy fresh out of MSF trying to learn track riding by following Rossi around Laguna Seca...the fitness and experience gap is that large
  17. Holy crap, you're a real motorcyclist now!
  18. I'm a terrorist. Derka derka.
  19. The only scooter I would rock is a Ninja 250
  20. Where were all you drop-in-wanting assclowns last week when we rented out the rink and had an Ohio Riders hockey game? *grumble*
  21. Lol was too lazy to turn the computer on after I got back yesterday to even post up about that Great ride; roads were almost completely clear save for a solid strip of salt or gravel or something in the middle of the lane in a few places, but it was mostly in strait areas and not in curves. Ran across one 30-40 foot stretch of what looked like a minefield made of horse shit, but that was more smelly than dangerous and it really gave me a chance to knock the rust off of my countersteering obstacle avoidance skills Saw 3 cops total, which is 3 more than I have ever seen on that route before. No tickets though. And I only took 2 wrong turns! One due to my GPS still not knowing how to deal with a particular intersection (tried to fix it and have some faith that the tweaks worked, but it still lead me astray) and one because I wasn't paying attention...that second one resulted in a pretty interesting steep and twisty hill climb up what looked like very fine ground-up asphalt. Overall it was a really fun ride Again, great meeting ya John!
  22. Silly old people and the internet... See that "Thread Tools" button at the top of the post? Click it and it has a printable link. Or you could just copy/paste the text you want from the thread into Microsoft Word or Wordpad or whatever word processing software you prefer.
  23. I'd be there if I weren't home for spring break. I can go next week though.
  24. Alright so jhl385 and I are meeting near Akron at 10:30 then heading down to East Canton; we'll probably get there around 11:30 or so depending on traffic etc. If anyone wants to meet us in Akron, East Canton, or at any point along the route, post here or call/text me 330-603-6786. I'll be on the boards a lot tonight and I'll check tomorrow morning before I leave, just in case someone posts at the last minute.
