  1. I rarely drink anymore, but when I do it's typically Red Stripe until I'm sloshed, and then however much Bud Lite it takes me to get hammered. Maybe it's just that its winter and that this year has had too much school to allow for much drinking, but beer/booze have been off my radar for some time now
  2. So what all did you have to do, just put the front wheel on? Not being a dick; I'm just curious about just exactly what that 'assembly' fee got me that I paid the dealer...
  3. As much as I like Columbus, I will say that it's radio stations are absolute SHIT. Cleveland radio trumps Columbus radio in every regard. 92.3, 97.5, 98.5, 100.7 are each way better than any station down here. Hell, the Maxwell show on 100.7 alone is better than the whole of Columbus radio.
  4. What's with the obsession with "keeping up"? Is it really necessary to be in the guy in front of you's back pocket during the whole ride? Maybe I'm crazy, but I love having a bit of space open up between me and the next guy. Adds more margin for error and gives me space to play. Any good group stops and waits for everyone whenever there's an intersection and a direction change, so it's not like you'll get lost by falling behind.
  5. Ugh, I can't comprehend even getting near alcohol or any other substance right now... I'm just hoping I'm better for next weekend; turning 21 on the 13th and if I'm sick for that I'll be ~pissed~
  6. A few weeks after starting riding and getting my bike, I was out by myself in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park system looking for a nice quiet park with a picnic table or something to go sit at and read a book. Was turning into a parking lot, didn't see that the enterence to the lot was covered in pea gravel, and the front end washed out and down we went. Was only doing maybe 10 mph tops; tore up the left side fairing and put a scuff on my turn signal, mirror, and engine cover...cost me about 300$ total to replace the fairing and get things right. I was squidding it up at the time (didn't even own a riding jacket yet) and only had a helmet and some cheapo gloves on, but the helmet didn't even touch the ground. Put a nice small hole in my knee, and cracked the joint in my thumb. Never went to the doc to get the thumb fixed, and now it's healed up improperly and hurts like hell if I bend it the wrong way, and I don't have a full range of motion in it. It's a good reminder to watch the road surface quality like a hawk at all times... But that was 2 years ago almost, and since then I've managed to keep the shiny side up
  7. Sick, feel like death, skipped all classes today, have taken 2 naps already because it hurts to be awake in general. And I get to do it all again tomorrow
  8. Yes well that is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!
  9. If you're not comfortable in a large group, why not just hang back near the back of the pack? That's what I did on the one group ride I went on last year (wasn't even a big group, maybe 10 people, I was just playing it safe) and really didn't feel any pressure to ride above my limits or to do anything stupid. I think it's just all about self control and riding your own ride.
  10. Man, I was actually hoping to see a fish eat a duck. You're no fun
  11. I'm definitely up for a trip down 555 this spring. I've heard lots of good and bad things about it, but the bad stuff was mostly due to poor road surface. Now that it's repaved, I'm very curious to see what this road has to offer
  12. Boy I'm glad I wasted my time playing T-ball and soccer and shit as a kid.
  13. With enough fiber and water intake, anything will pass

    Iron Pony

I think that by the time this season starts, I'll have enough Pony shirts to wear a different one every day. If nothing else, they do make for good gym attire. Though, last time I was there I spent well over 600 bucks and the guy gave me a Repsol shirt along with the Iron Pony one. I love wearing the Repsol one; I need more motorcycle-related swag
  15. REAL money? He's totally screwed if he's promising that as payment in the future; we haven't had REAL money since 1913
  16. Hah yeah, but I was scared shitless going from Columbus to Coshocton. Once we got to the twistys it was fine, but that high speed on open roads stuff isn't really for me I don't think. These guys must need a forklift to carry around their tremendous brass balls
  17. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/23/AR2009012302935.html?hpid=topnews Long read, but worth it. A mayor's house is raided and his dogs killed because of a misguided drug bust. Is this really what we need? A war in our own backyard over a PLANT? This isn't unheard of, either. It happens all too frequently to be tolerated. Fire the bastards responsible for the raid, and LEGALIZE already. *rage*
  18. Dragonforce - Black Winter Night I've been on a huge power metal kick recently. The louder the better (unless you're my roommates...but fuck em' )
  19. ...holy shit man, this thread never ceases to amaze. Every time I read it, I wanna go take something apart. But then I remember that I'm grossly incompetent at doing that with anything other than computers and forget about it
  20. That's basically my mind's eye picture of what the trip to Coshocton was like on that "guys ride" we did in the fall...
  21. ...as opposed to what? Finding a dead body on "Find a Dead Body Day"? Cuz then it'd be totally normal and not news-worthy. But man, finding it on a normal day...stop the presses.
