  1. Going out Saturday for the first time. Ever. Pretty excited about it.
  2. Sorry for the late response, been real busy the last few days. They let me return it and gave me no problems. It was a floor model tv and the picture was very disappointing. Found a different one on Amazon and jumped on it. Free delivery, a free 3d blu ray player and no tax really swayed me. Haha no. I suckered someone else into doing it.
  3. Anyone every tried to return an open box item to them? I bought something that I'm less than thrilled with and I'm wondering if I'm SOL.
  4. They released a patch last week which resolved a few issues but I still get random freezes and server crashes are pretty common. The netcode still seems pretty sketchy - lots of people randomly disappearing or floating through the air. It's a shame because the game is gorgeous and could be very good but they really need to clean some things up.
  5. The BF4 launch wasn't just PS4, I have it for PC and it's still fucked. I'm on the fence about a PS4. I want to pick up a new console but there's not many games that I want to play for it right now, Also, Xbox live blew PSN out of the water last time around as far as features and ease of use go. There's no way in hell I'm paying $500 for an Xbox one though.
  6. I would agree with this. A long time ago, I had a 7.1 setup in a bedroom and it was awful; you need plenty of room to separate the channels. That being said, if you find a 7.1 receiver you like, it's always nice to have room to expand your setup in the future. Also, the newer Onkyo's have Audyssey setup as well - very convenient.
  7. ^ This. I've ran 5 speakers off of a 7 channel receiver before with no issues.
  8. +1 for Onkyo. For $300, though, wireless may be a stretch. I have a TX-NR515, which is my 3rd Onkyo. For the price, you would be hard pressed to beat Onkyo's features. If you could find a refurb or used Denon, they are also very good.
  9. My thoughts are fuck him.
  10. This would be tempting if I could actually get a hold of a PS4 any time soon.
  11. The Hitachi is kind of old. I bought it in 2006. It also weighs a ton.
  12. I will second this. I have a 42" Hitachi plasma in my bedroom and if I leave the door closed, it will definitely heat up. Not really a huge problem though, just open the door.
  13. +1 for Plasma. Plasmas consistently top the rankings for best picture quality and are the best for watching sports or anything with fast motion due to the high refresh rate. The black levels are also much deeper than you will get with an LCD/LED. Burn-in really is not an issue anymore, I've bought 3 plasmas since 2006 and never had image retention issues with any of them. I own 2 Samsung plasmas and haven't had a single problem. There are some drawbacks to plasma, though. Like others mentioned, putting a plasma in a room that gets a lot of sunlight can be a problem - the glare can be noticeable if there is a lot of light. Also, they do generate a lot of heat. Overall though, I think those are pretty small tradeoffs for the picture quality you get.
  14. My 6870 runs Barbie's Playhouse on Ultra. That's all I need
  15. Gotcha. Convertible or just the regular 2 door?
  16. +1 for Northern Ohio Duc. Never bought a bike from them but I bought a couple sets of tires and a bunch of gear there. Friendly, good prices and easy to deal with.
  17. Nothing you just posted is even worth responding to.
  18. From healthcare.gov: "the Marketplace is run by either your state or the federal government" (https://www.healthcare.gov/what-is-the-health-insurance-marketplace/) Medicare/medicaid do have "socialist" roots. And I do have a problem with them. Read my post. I didn't say it was illegal to pass a "socialist" law. I said it's bullshit. By my definition, a "socialist" law is one where the government takes control of something that was previously private and coerces you into purchasing something. If you disagree with my definition, good for you. I never elaborated on what type of government I wanted or what I thought their role in the market should be. So don't post things assuming you know what I want.
  19. Rand is generally more closely associated with Libertarians than republicans. That's why I figured it was a jab at Libertarians. How long does it take for the rest of us to realize the savings that we're supposed to see from these lesser ER visits? And what mandates healthcare providers and insurers to pass these savings on to the consumer? I'll believe that when I see it. Again, I think that healthcare should be affordable for all people. However, making it affordable for some by increasing costs on those who already have it through our employers? That is bullshit and it is the very definition of socialism. I'm not really one to scream about Obama being an EVIL MOOSLIM SOCIALIST USURPER OMFGGG!!!!!!!! But that's what this law is. Period. The debate over SS/Medicare is something I don't even want to get into. I hate paying for something that won't be there when I retire. Baby boomers who didn't plan accordingly for their retirement get to live on my dime. Bullshit.
