  1. Title pretty much says it. I want a flintlock rifle/musket. Something mechanically sound that won't blow up in my face.

I don't really care about cosmetic condition as refinishing it would be a good project to do with the boys.

Both of them are studying the revolutionary war in school now and this is as good of an excuse as any to buy a new toy.

They know modern guns, but I want to teach them about what they used to be like so they can appreciate the current technology.

  2. Ready made resources usually has a good sale on them every now and then

    Ready Made Resources

Looks like $89 / case with free shipping

I am going to order a case of these:

12 meals with heaters for $74 shipped

  3. I was just doing a Google search for mre ohio and this thread came up. I figure that the Domsday Preppers show will rack up sales of survival gear nationwide as people watch and think "Hmmm, maybe that isn't such a bad idea".

I want to have a case of them or so just to keep some in the "go bag" and have them on hand for camping with the boys.

  4. ----- GONE -----

I found this on the way in to work on the side of the road half in the ditch. Close to Alum Creek if anyone cares.

Motobecane Nomade 1. Old, heavy, tires hold air, but should be replaced.

Money would be great, but getting it out of my office would be better (meaning FREE if you are cheap)

Located at Cols. State campus just south of Delaware.

  5. - SOLD -

I bought this a few months ago off of MeefZah and haven't even put the first round through it. Here is his original posting, nothing has changed so it still applies. I paid $400 + $20 for the holsters.

Not desperate to sell, just don't see myself shooting it and figured I'd just see if anyone else wanted it.

Used Smith 6906, nice shape overall, 100% reliable with every kind of ammo you can stuff into it.

For those not familiar, this is the 12-round compact 9mm modeled after the 5906; it has a bobbed hammer but is DA/SA, ambi safety / decocker, mag safety, Novak 3-dot sights, 3.5" bbl. Much like the compact Glock magazines do, full size 59-series mags fit and function in this gun.

Aluminum frame has some shiny spots from holster wear and the grip shows minor wear, but overall this is a very nice piece. Bore is crisp, lockup is tight, and it points and shoots very nicely. Recoil spring is new; nothing wrong with the old one, but it's cheap insurance.

Comes with 2 factory 12 round mags, 2 pinky baseplates, 3 new Mec-Gar 15 round 5906 mags, manual. No box.

  7. Where'd you find the picture? That would be a starting point.

I found a reference to it at some Italian website, but couldn't get to the actual picture itself.

Original pic had a filename of: tumblr_ls13c4sh1n1qminlvo1_500.jpg

I couldn't find any reference to it anywhere. Just stumbled across it while looking at random crap and fell in love.

  8. My insurance agent told me thed don't raise rates unless they have to pay out over $1k to the victim in an accident you caused. This was a few years ago so the number has probably changed with inflation since then.

I don't expect there to be any payout from the ins. company at all, just a traffic offense on my record. I don't know if that will raise rates or not. It seems like they will look for any excuse to do that.

  9. Regardless' date=' you hit a car in front of you. You're guilty. No big deal.. pay the fine and move on with your business.[/quote']

Had I known how it would turn out, I would have offered the the guy in front the $53 that was in my wallet to not file a report claiming that it would raise my insurance rates (which it probably will). I still think he's a dickhead.

I'm just gonna pay it and dislike Michigan people even more that I already do.

  10. Last friday while heading out for lunch I rear ended another car in the old buick. Stitting at a stop light in the rain, car in front of me takes off, I take off, he slams on the brakes, I slam on the brakes and slide into him. 2-3mph max speed at contact. He had contact with the car in front of him also. I can't prove who hit who first.

Absolutely NO damage to any of the vehicles but the front guy wants to make a police report "just because we should". (Michigan dickhead)

OSHP officer shows up and makes the report. I get a $130 ticket for ACDA (Assured clear distance ahead). Trooper said that if he makes a report, then somebody has to get a citation.

Is there any advantage at all to going to traffic court on this or do I just pay it? I don't really have anything to argue on my behalf, but I've never gone before so it is new territory. Court would be here in Delaware in the morning, so it isn't really a big deal to go.

    Thoughts?

  11. Most of those Concours's have a ton of miles on them. How many does this one have? For 900$ either way, nice pickup!

49,000 miles. About half as many as my ST1100 had when it got smashed. New tires front & rear as well.

I'll run through it and flush all of the fluids (brake, clutch, rear drive) and then put some effort into making it "pretty". I like doing that kind of stuff and can wheel it into the basement to make it a winter project.
