  1. It's been a year since the crash (deer) and I just bought a replacement bike. 87 Kawasaki Concours - $900.

Fuel petcock leaks, shift shaft seal leaks and has exhaust leaks, but seems to run & ride fine. I will probably fix it up over the winter and may give an attempt at refinishing & painting the plastics. It can't look much worse than it does now. I do have the hard bags, but took them off to strap it to the trailer.

It is looks familiar to anyone and you might know a history, speak up.

  2. I just bought an 87 Concours and and starting to round up repair parts.

Exhaust is leaking on both sides just past the crossover. Anybody have something like that laying around?

I'm not even sure yet what all I am going to need, but the seat will get repaired/replaced too if somebody has one of those in good shape.

  3. I had one for a year too (hit a deer). It is a quiet, comfortable and reliable. If that is what you are looking for, then it is a great bike. If you want something to get the adrenalin going, then you need to find something with a better power to weight ratio.

I could go on a 1 hr ride and not be sore at all and helmets would fit in the hard bags. I liked the bike quite a bit, but it didn't give the "rush" that a sportbike did and I missed that.

A C14 or an FJR would be the best of both worlds, but you have to pay a lot more $$ for either of those. I paid $2,700 for my 93 with 60K miles on it is perfect condition.

  4. Hold them down and make them watch videos of bad crashes with people not wearing gear.

This guy whining is enough to make most people wear the gear just so he'll STFU.

I like how he lef the blood on it to make it look *really* bad.

Here is my lesson about gear.

92 degrees out and knew I wasn't going to do any stupid riding, just a normal commute home from work. Gloves & jacket were in the saddlebags.

Hit the deer at somewhere between 60-65. Won't EVER happen again.

The "Dress for the crash" phrase is completely accurate.

  5. This rim washed up in my yard after one of the summers floods. I certainly don't want it and plan to put it on craigslist, but I don't have any clue as to what kind of vehicle it is from.

Does it look familiar to anybody?

  6. I have a set of carbs that I was told are off of a Honda 700.

Don't know what kind of 700, or even if it was really a Honda They do say Keihin on the body and VE on the bowl.

Free to whoever wants them on the condition that is NOT just to resell or put up on ebay. Can pick up on morrow county this weekend on in Delaware (at work) during the week.

  7. Trade for 03 4 stroke ttr125?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't imagine that it would have enough torque to justify it over my IT200. That, and I would probably be pushing it on the physical size.

    I'm not a small fella (6', 270lbs).

I am really hoping for something like a DR or even an XT in something decent sized. Cash will awalys work too, then I will go bike shopping in December when prices are down.

  8. I am just wanting something that is more "trail riding" friendly. I have an old IT200, but it doesn't have enough low end torque to haul my fat ass up the hills anymore. I thought this one would do it, but it just isn't made for the kind of riding that I want to do.

I "think" that an older 4 stroker would be less jumpy and have the lower end torque that I am looking for. My IT200 works just fine (the brakes suck) for riding around the farm, but as the kids get older, I will want to head down to Somerset and hit some hills.

It (the RM) will get posted on craigslist for $1200 obo after it gets a good spring cleaning. You guys get first dibs.

We are a dual XBOX household so the PS3 is out.

  9. Repost from last fall. Rode some saturday and still don't want to keep it.

1996 RM250. Ohio Title. No clue on history or what all has been done to it. Starts good & runs fine. $1000 firm or trade for a thumper (4 stroke). I need something less hyper/spastic/dangerous than this. I will kill myself on it.

Pics are from last fall, but it looks just the same.

The only trade I would be interested in is a 4 stroke of the same size or bigger. Dual sport would be awsome and I can add cash if needed. Any trade needs to have a title!

Test rides are fine up at the farm in Morrow County. You break it, you bought it.

  10. Jim was a good-hearted regular guy who married a good-hearted woman who shared his values, so she didn't mind that he kept riding his motorcycles. He still drank a whiskey or beer when he wanted, but not as much as when he was young, because he wanted to take care of himself so he could take care of her, too. When she got sick, his steady job and benefits covered the hospital bill. Later, when his job went to hell, her steady job tided them over, so they didn't suffer much, despite the setbacks.

Yea, she probably gave blowjobs after the wedding too.

Pretty much totally describes my marriage. NOT!!!

Marriage is like a deck of cards. In the beginning all you need are 2 hearts and a diamond. Later on you only want a club and a spade.

  11. I looked at the stack of boxes of match grade .308 ($29 / box) and realized there there is a LOT of money just sitting there on the shelf.

So, I bought myself a "jobsite box". Box heavy metal box with recessed padlocks. $250 new at Lowes & Home Depot. Ammo is a lot of money in a small little package and probably easy to resell.

  12. I have a recurring dream where I wake up in the barracks and have to get out to morning PT. I'm old, fat & none of my uniforms in my locker will fit my fat a$$.

I try to convince the DI that I'm not supposed to be there but it doesn't go well. It's been over 20 freakin' years and I still have that stupid dream.

  13. Mostly old dudes, its not a young partying crowd. And allot of LEO and ATF in the area for the weekend. Not the good time you'll have in Louisville.

Old guys are the only ones that can afford all of the full auto crap. I went down around 12 years ago and it is a good time if you are a machinegun loving-redneck-hilljack. I had a good time. Slept in the back of the exploder and came home sunday morning.

I got to run a magazine through a full-auto/suppressed Ruger 10/22 for $5. A good 5 seconds of fun right there. I figured out that the guy could have easily paid for his rifle, suppressor and tax stamps in just that one weekend.
