does the 1000 have the speedo off the trans like the XX? most bikes drive speedo off front wheel, don't they?

Was riding his klr 650 to work this morning, not sure of details, but was life flighted from the scene, has broken ribs and spine... Goes by grumpy, just joined the site, but he has been riding for decades.

i have an acetylene torch here, but it makes such ugly cuts....

I have a plate that needs cut, it's 3/16 thick, and a somewhat odd geometry, I'm certain i could do it with the circular saw and a cut off wheel, but it would take me ages... If anyone up here has a plasma cutter and would be willing to do me a solid, lemme know. Thanks

THIS^ by all means hone your skills and practice, track days are great for that, but don't worry about keeping up with others. you know where your comfort zone is, ride there. I like to follow better riders and push myself to the edges of my comfort zone from time to time (hopefully nowhere near the limits of my skills) but that's me.

if you're concerned about keeping up with people, don't ride with lost, uncle punk, or passinthru, those guys will just how little talent you have.

the squids are out in full force here. operators are rocking sunglasses and headbands, passengers the same (occasional half helmet) street clothes, passengers in skimpy shorts and tank tops. personally, I've stopped caring, they are fun to look at, and it's not my place or job to tell these morons what road rash feels like. chances are they will learn first hand.

How much for gps mount and what kind?

this depends more if I wake up early enough, and am eager enough to ride the freeway 2 hours to the meet spot.

My boss @ work is a die hard cooper guy, claims they are using better grades of carbon black than the competition and in turn getting better performance from their tires, since avon is a cooper brand, I thought about giving them a shot. the storm 2 seems like a comparable tire to the angel ST's i'm currently running, but i am hesitant to change from a tire that I like so much. anyone here with heavy bikes use them? busa's 14's connies, bkings, liters, etc...

Pirelli Angel ST E.M.S. record holding motorcycle tire for mileage. Grip is great, too. holds the XX in the corners as hard as I'm willing to throw her, and just about doubles what you got with your last tire on my bike. (between 7 and 9 k for a rear, double that for a front)

on the rare occasions I DONT have my stereo blaring, and can actually hear what people are saying, these are the most common. "hey. is that one of the new cbr 600's? I've never seen one like that before." "do a wheelie!" my usual response is "you first!" "i was gonna ride mine today, but there is a xx% chance of rain" "is that one of them cafe racer bikes?" to which i replied..."uuh, yeah?"

my corbin is great, not sure how "sticky" you want your seat as i tend to pivot around on mine through the corners a lot...

side note imprez, high beams are frowned upon in group rides, lol.
