  1. Its easy. First and foremost save all your documents, pics, etc. to a flash drive or external hard drive, someone else's PC, whatever. Then put your Vista Operating system disc in the DVD-ROM. Restart the PC, most likely you will see something to the effect of "press any key to boot from CD-ROM." Press the any key. Vista will give you two options, repair or install. Do a clean install. Only the Vista OS will be installed, no dell trial period spam. Vista will re-name the old install as windows.old. You can delete this after you confirm all is well. Again, get everything important off the PC first. You may even choose to use "Windows Easy Transfer" to migrate your stuff somewhere else. Make sure you use the Vista disc that came with your PC, not the Dell recovery disc. Since this is your first go at it, I would recommend you have another PC lined up to browse the web with in case you get stuck or need to DL drivers or something.
  2. Dells and other machines have borderline spyware installed out of the box. They come with so much junk you dont need. I would recommend doing a clean install with the vista disc - not a restoration CD with all the programs it came installed with. 1GB RAM is plenty to run vista home basic, that should not be the problem.
  3. I dont want to ride because I am getting the quad ready to sell, but I see you are in indy... ever ride at haspin?

  10. Wheel Horse garden tractor, 12hp, 42" deck, hi-low range gearing, good condition, could use a new choke cable (although pliers do the trick). Dont know how much interest there is, so feel free to ask questions if interested. $700. http://images.craigslist.org/01010001020901030420070610279596d44904c6064b008e0d.jpg

  12. Just wanted to quote this so you would definitely see it. Do you have a price range? For a first, honda, sportbike, I would recommend an F4i. A great all-around bike, a bit better (comfort-wise) for commuting and trips than a 600rr. However, if you are a good rider and think you might push the bike to its limits I would lean more toward the 600rr. You get a lot more bike for another $1000 over the F4i. 919 is a different machine all together, and liter sport bikes are too much for a first street bike in my opinion. Honestly I would not buy a new one, get a couple year old F4i to play with until you decide how much you like it, what you really want to do, etc. It would suck to drop $9K then decide you want something else. Bikes hold their value pretty well after the initial depreciation when you ride it off the lot.
  13. wildblue.com Its satellite, but from the sounds of things its that or a wireless broadband card (puke).
  14. if he wants them so bad start dumping them in his yard. Get your neighbors on board too.
  15. Screw that, I suppose if she got a speeding ticket you should pay for that too Take her new brakes back off and keep them off until she can pay for the ticket and the work.
  16. I am all about CCW permits, but I would NOT have pulled in that situation. He used the fat chick as cover and shots were fired with a mother/baby in between. The guy would have got his money and left. From the video it sure does look like the perp shot first, everyone ducked and then he returned fire. When they run to the phone you can see ceiling tile shit floating down from his shot??? Glad the outcome was good, but dont think its the best example of when to pull.
  17. Dell latitude. Best of all worlds, durability, reliability, power, weight, price, etc. As soon as you get it, do a clean install with the OS cd they send you. You will be happy with it.
  18. generally speaking a slip-on does not REQUIRE a re-jet, but might benefit slightly. I have no idea about the katana carbs, some are easy and others require drilling. Might want to poke around on a katana board for that info.
  19. Frame sliders are just that.. they are not designed to protect your plastics from a tip-over. They are designed to keep the frame off of the pavement as the bike slides after a get-off. That said, they still usually help protect the plastics when knocked over, but still expect some cosmetic damage. The general consensus is that the sliders requiring drilling of your plastics are stronger than non-cut ones. You can also get bar end and swingarm sliders if you wanted.
  20. I had a leo vince on my R6, very nice pipe and keeps the pass. pegs. Also more of a rare pipe so that was refreshing. I like the high-mounts, I would still have one if I didnt have an ass warmer on my bike now.
  21. Its handy for directions when you are already out on the road.
  22. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204511744&adid=17662 $21. I dont recommend the cheap stuff, transfer speeds are often slow as balls.
