JBWalker
other than regular maintenance and replacement of normal wear items such as spark plugs, tires, brake pads, chain & sprockets, battery, the bike runs perfect and has never let me down.. at 100k miles I'm knocking out a yearly average of 46 mpg. and the inside of the air box is clean & dry. in addition, I'm still running original stock bearings, suspension, brake rotors, fuel pump & filter, clutch & basket, charging system, and a 07 pure stock ECU. i give this bike a grade of A+ .. undoubtedly the best bike ive ever owned. IMHO, i contribute my good luck to, 1. the OverDrive Trannie, for 30% less wear & tear on engine. 2. the use of mc specific motor oil. 3. use of regular automotive grade fuel with the highest AKI rating. 4. street use only. no dirt or trails
3.504
thats awesome! its funny how things last when properly maintained. I bet yours is in better shape than a bunch of the garage queens with less than 10k.

Casper
Not sure if that's neat' date=' or annoying. Dash lights geek me the fuck out. [/quote'] I don't think geeking out means quite what you think it does.

BadTrainDriver
I truly regret selling(basically giving away) my 2005 DL1000 V-Strom.I had a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in that bike!I meet several new friends by having that bike, including Pokey...who's one of my best buds...and he's a throttle body synching fool! After he got it running right(ran like shit from day one), he was the only one brave(or perhaps dumb) enough to reach through my crash bars to adjust the TB's. Maine to Georgia, and everywhere in between, that bike took me there!Lot's of great memories!I often wonder how she's doing...
buildit
Mine has been beaten, banged, ridden off road, in rain, mud, dropped, and keeps going. I may have to have the valves checked as it's got 38,000 on it. It's great bike for an 07'. Here's a video made at the end of last fall on a nice day.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWRYqwmwAg4And another video from when it was still newish in 08'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoWWlZHSepMAdirondacksDeals GapDevils tower, Death Valley, Yellowstone, Sturgis, Lead, Steam Boat and Jackson Hole. jester3681
Lot's of great memories!I often wonder how she's doing...About like that ex-girlfriend from high school. Everything's sagging and at least a dozen guys have ridden her since you said goodbye. Cherish the memories, if you saw her now, you'd be sick. Pokey
BTD had the ultimate Strom........Trust me on that. I love both bikes in my garage, but for sure wish I still also had my ole Strom.
