Gunner75
But god damn that price! Sport Rider magazine has one of these on their 2012 Ninja 650 race project. I would love to have one but fuck that pricehttp://www.elkasuspension.com/products/moto/moto-stage4/
TRMN8TR
Just looked up the one for a 675, $800 or $1000 with hydraulic preload adjust. Pretty reasonable as far as aftermarket rear shocks go. I know an Ohlins with no hydraulic preload runs about $1300.

That makes this a decent price, but damn i still cant justify the price on a street bike
TRMN8TR
Ya, probably not needed on a street bike. I tracked/raced my crappy rear shock for a few years before I finally decided I should upgrade.

IMO, Penske, Elka and Race Tech offer some of the best quality/price ratio. Everyone and their brother wants the name Ohlins on their stuff so they have to reduce demand by increasing price. NinjaNick
I love my rear shock. Got it for $999 plus tax. Hated dropping the cash, but it's worth it. Tons of adjustment and remote reservoir.
bowdog
I have Elkas on my Yfz450 and let me tell you there is nothing else on the market for quads that can even compare. yes very pricy but in my opinion well worth the money. That suspension has saved my ass more than a couple times. I would love to have a set for my R6.
CephasGT
I've run an Elka 3-way on my track bike for years, and have been very impressed. I get some sideways looks from people who've never heard of them, but it's their loss.
TRMN8TR
Ya I think Elka is known a lot more in the ATV/offroad world than they are in roadracing.
Helmutt
I don't even see an Elka application for your 2012, James......is there a rear shock/suspension change from 2011 to 2012?
Gunner75
Its not on their application list but I would assume there's no difference. Sport rider built their 2012 650 race project with one. I just looked into it curious on price cause there are so few suspension upgrades for my bike.http://sportrider.com/gear/146_1303_kawasaki_ninja_650_racebike_build/Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
oldschoolsdime92
I've got Penske rear and ohlins up front, and while its not needed for some on the road, dialed in suspension makes all the difference in the world
TRMN8TR
Quality suspension is not enjoyed less on street bikes. Most race tracks don't have pot holes and tar snakes. You have ridden at Nelson Ledges, haven't you? And I call that place home track so...
