this section is 91 miles of 15 to 25 mile perhour switchbacks and edge of the cliff corners, there are no hard rails or signs on the edges

I just rode 191 about a month ago on me way out to California. We took a lot of the same pics.

191 is an amazing road, one of the top three or four in the country, especially if you're looking for non-stop twisties!Did you see the sign...speed limit 10 mph next 11 miles?Gives you a idea of just how twisty this thing is!

I went the very southern route out to California just to ride this road... and it was well worth it.A true destination highway.

I live a few hours from there. Did you take it all the way to alpine and into NM? I can't remember the road down into NM but it makes a nice loop. It is a very remote loop and there is the possibility of hitting an elk or bear or even a big horn sheep. Depending on the time of year the road surface can be dirty due to the rains in june/July. It is extremely hot in the summer riding up there. Last time I went it was 104* when I passes the mine in morenci. The best place to stay would be alpine AZ great area. But as far as anything along the route there really isn't any food gas or lodging. Never any cops unless someone slides off the side which is pretty common. There is no room for error on that road. It is narrow with a jagged rock face on one side and a huge cliff on the other. Unlike tail of the dragon there aren't many trees to slow your decent. Not a beginner's road at all but it is pretty fun.

Wicked are you still in the area? Have you rode mt. Lemmon yet?

Oh yeah the road used to be route 666 but people kept stealing the signs so they changed the name if you want to look it up online its sometimes referred to as the devils highway.

I came across 82 through the Lincoln national forest in New Mexico, it to is an impressive ride, I got on 191 down near the Mexico boarder and rode it up to 40

I know that area pretty well. You seem to be covering a lot of ground though.

Just out for a cruise, i try average 300-500 miles per day. I'm over at Yosemite at the casino, tomorrow I'm heading back to Vegas for a night then to the grand canyon, monument valley, the four corners then it might be time to head home. We're about 3000 miles out at this point

I just got home from my western trip last night...9400 miles in 5 weeks.I mainly stayed up in the mountains between the Golden Gate,Yerka and Eureka. It was awful tough going through Utah and not hitting 191 in the Flaming Gorge area or the Devil's backbone down south, but it was time to head home.

Are the passes open in the Sierras yet?If it's open and you're still in the area 180 into King's Canyon would be a fun little side trip on your way over to Vegas.

Enjoy the rest of your ride.

looks nice but not that curvy for a sportbike romp. the harley crowd has ruined deals gap.

What road are you referring to as not curvy? What road do you know of that's more curvy than AZ191?

it just doesn't really look all that from those few pics. I could be wrong. it's curves look more flowing and long than tight and back to back like that gap is.

I would rather take a touring bike through that than my R6 is what I'm seeing in the pics.

It's mostly switch backs. There are signs that say 10mph for the next 25 miles. Then it starts to open up its a very curvy road and challenging. It's greatest aspect is its remote location means that it is never crowded and always quiet. But unlike the Dragon there are no food or gas stations on the way. Also there aren't any surrounding roads like the Dragon where the oads around it that are fun to drive.
