Wojo72
I've never sold a vehicle in OH. Any tips on how not to get screwed on a motorcycle sale to a private party?
Tonik
You are selling? Cash.

Wolfman1
Cash only as Tonik stated above. No joyrides either, proof of license with a motorcycle endorsement and cash in hand or no test run, period! I have heard of a few horror stories regarding dumb asses with no endorsement and window shoppers. Other than that it is business as usual, cash exchange, title signed over and away it goes. Good luck with your sale!
Scruit
Definitely agree with cash-in-your-hand with a "you bend it, you bought it" rule before letting them test ride. Take your plate off before letting it go.
Ron505
I'd also suggest meeting in a public, populated place. Some Police Stations have designated safe zones for personal sales. Edited June 13, 2016 by Ron505
Wojo72
I am officially a full time cager again. No drama with the sale. Let the shopping begin!

Wojo72
Thanks. Right now I have a little bit of "analysis paralysis" going on trying to figure out what I want and want to afford. Short list in no particular order: FZ09 Leftover 2015 Z1000 GSX S1000 XSR900 ????

hiro
Question about "cash in hand" to test ride: Does that mean you hand over the full amount in cash to the seller to hold while you test ride? That seems risky. (Also, cash seems risky because there could be some counterfeit bills?)

The person usually leaves their car there as well. I get a pic of their plate number.
