DAC
No. It's a quick reference for bike rental locations needed when BMW issues one of it's "do not ride" recalls.
Casper
Maybe I'm not thinking thoroughly, but why would a flying bike need suspension?

jschaf
It's an "air ride" suspension of course.
what
I like that it's still got a boxer engine. What does it use for propulsion, the exhaust from the cans?
Tonik
The shocks are for when it breaks down mid flight. It cushions the impact.
Qman
Just ran into the guy who bought my last GS1200 (09). Took it to California and back. No problems. Must have at least 70k on it now, with no service beyond maintenance items. Not too bad.

He used to bust on me about my Ducs. "When are you going to buy a real bike?" he'd say. Not so funny meow, is it? I actually think Beemers are okay. I'm in lust with the R1200RT. Just don't buy early in the model cycle. Lots of stories just like your uncle's.
motocat12
My friends' borrowed BMW in Italy. Failed tranny bearing. The day they got it back it leaked oil due to "bad new output shaft seal". Then they got it back from that and had a rear tire covered in brake fluid the next day. http://bikers.readmyblog.org/?p=7577

PhilD'oh!
I'll take any of the iron sitting in the background...except the citation.
redkow97
For those who didn't read the article, this "bike" is purely a design exercise for BMW's interns. They copied a Lego set.

Tpoppa
I've been looking into these. It's like a mountain bike with a motor, and it's street legal. MSRP is around $2300 http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/motorcycles/2016/2016-ClevelandCycleWerks-Hooligan-FXR.htm
