just_some_dude
I was wanting to take my daughter backpacking a few miles into the woods and do an overnight or two. Was hoping to do some fishing to get dinner for us. She is eight years old, so don't want to do anything too strenuous. Any suggestions? I'm familiar with multinight backpacking, but never really looked much into fishing. She is the type that will have little patience with this at first, so want it to be relatively easy to catch some edible fish for the fire. If I have to go outside of Ohio I will. Obviously, scenary is always a plus if you have a place in mind. This would be her first backpacking experience. 2talltim
Here is what you are looking for. Can't camp on the trails but plenty of camping areas and hiking and fishing. And the permit is free. http://www.aep.com/environment/conservation/recland/activities.aspx
