A few traps I know of....

... around Columbus and burbs. I pay alot of attention to the FOP's tricks...so here they are!

SR315

The whole freeway...bad...bad...bad!

Actually, the worst spots are:

1) Bethel road...they sit on the overhead bridge and lidar (laser) motorist heading south, then call ahead to cruisers waiting around bend, seen many times during really sunny days.

2) Between 70 and 5th Ave, heading North. Many curves for them to hide around and its 55mph. See them almost daily there.

3) Just North of Riverside Hospital, heading Southbound, they sit along median on left side as you come around bend...been busted on this one!

I270

1) NorthEast side of Cols, between 161 and Morse, heading south, they regularly watch from helicopter on right side of road, this area is marked with VASCAR lines. They also like to sit in the Median here and lidar both ways.

2) East side of Cols, just North of Main St., North bound traffic. Right after concrete median stops. I've seen as many as 10 Cols Highway Patrol sitting in line pulling cars over. Especially on those real sunny winter days.

I670

Another bad freeway for traps, many curves, and people love to speed on it because its smooth. Their favorite tactic on this freeway is to use VASCAR (point to point timing) as they sit on the freeway On-Ramps. This way, you don't see them until you are already in view, and the clock has already started on you when you do see them. Some other points along this road to mention...

1) West bound, just east of 5th ave, there is a sharp curve, with a very tall concrete median, so they hide on the inside curve against the wall, you can't see people in front of you slam on their brakes, and you can't see their cars because of the wall.

2) West bound, between Leonard Ave and I71, over hill. They sit under the Joyce Ave bridge and Lidar cars as they come over the hill.

3) East bound, under both Cassady Ave. and Stelzer Rd. bridges. Bridge shadow conceals them, so it will suprise you!

Cleveland Ave.

Between Morse Rd and SR161. Many points between here.

1) Find Minerva Park on a map, and memorize it. Then avoid it! They have their own cops, who drive dark grey caprices. They love to write tickets for 2mph over the limit (35mph). They don't own LIDAR, but love instant on KA. Only 2 cruisers.

2) Some of this area is patroled by Blendon Township police. Again, find blendon twp on a map, and avoid it at all costs. These guys are ultra-pricks! Completely black cars, with red Blendon Twp writing down side. This area is way out of the way of their station, which is located up near Westerville Road and Dempsey, so if they are down around this area, they are looking for something to do! They are very tricky about hiding behind cars and signs to stay out of view. Don't do it man, I warned you!

Thats a few of them, I'll try to put up more when I have a chance.

minerva park i one of the most patrolled areas in north columbus.

i went to high school in the area and there are always cops in the area. many of my friends have recieved tickets in this area.

i always set my cruise controll when i go through there and i will never actually enter their jurisdiction if i can avoid it.
