What was it? I came back at about 4:30 and made 3 pulls with the Volvo... I wont lie to ya, i was excited.

Factory Rating

170bhp/177trq @ 8.5psi

Here are my pulls....(Bone Stock 2003 Volvo S40)

Pull 1 - 156.9/195.3

Pull 2 - 160.5/206.4

Pull 3 - 151.7/192.2

I was spiking 13psi and falling off to 10psi on 3rd gear pulls.

Wrong curve there like Chris pointed out.

You know what is kinda funny, all torque curves cross the HP curve at 5252.. it has to because of the constant in the HP/torque equation.

HP= (torque*RPM)/5252

If it doesn't happen that way, then it defeats the laws of thermodynamics and is not an engine.

Hey Chris,

What was up with HP tuneraz?

Well, the heads are really basic. Here's what I had done.

milled .030

9 angle valve job

little larger intake valve, stock exhaust valve

ported (obviously) and matched lower intake (already ported by the same person who did the heads).

Basically, the exact same setup as these :

I also added a set of S&S headers to it as well.

Also, I put in a 3800 stall.

We pulled the motor Wednsday night.. (2 1/2 hours). Thursday, took apart the motor to the block. replaced everything, had it installed by that night. Tried to fit the headers, but that didnt work as planned. had to wack the firewall, and get the headers slighly modified for them to fit. Got all that done. Started it up first time.. no issues.. all is good.

I'm really hoping for a mid 13 this season if nothing breaks.

My best so far is a 14.494 @ 96 with a 2.1x 60. That was when I put down 199.6 hp and didn't have the stall, and all the other stuff I just added.

Shit.. now I gotta buy a helment. :( .

Yep... planning on putting some BIG numbers down for a NA 6 cylnder. I'm sure I'll turn a few heads at the track. I can see it now.. "WHAT THE FUCK.. A LUMINA... NO WAIT, IT'S A MONTE CARLO.. and he must have a blower on it to run those times".
