whats best for editing video

what are some thigns i would need to bump up the performance to edit video on my pc.. i cna do it.. but its sluggish and it needs to goa little quicker for me.

RAM and Hard Drive space... a fast processor is also a necissity in order for anything to go fast.

i ahve tons of harddrive space. i have 512 mb ram

and a 1.3 ghz amd athlon processor my shit jsut lags hard core. would a video card help anythign??

mine flakes real bad when trying to do it. My screen just jumps real bad. I think I need a better video card
