Dachsund

Badger Dog in German. Specifically bred for hunting down badgers, digging out there holes enough to invade, and killing them. They also stand on their hind legs and "box" badgers when confronted by one defending it's home.

Pretty cool dogs smile.gif

Cool puppy.

I had one when I was a kid, but it had a lot of health problems. I guess because of all the specialized breeding necessary to get them to look they way they do, they are prone to a lot of that kind of stuff.

Anyway, I hope your dog remains healthy and happy.

Puppy mills aka pet stores arent the ideal place to buy dogs. A registered breeder with references and plenty of knowledge should be your primary option. They are much cheaper directly from the source anyway. Petco wanted over a grand for a similar looking dachshund. We paid less than half that.

Yeah, we got a new addition to our family also. His name is currently Huck Finn (name the previous owner gave him). He will be 6 months in a week and he is the sweetest dog. We are trying to figure out a different name ( jordan wants to call him "scootch") He is a pure breed Jack Russels Terrier.
