What is "clay bar"?? I want to get my wife's 04 Matrix done up, but I'm not sure that it would need heavy machine polishing or clay bar because its so new. There are a few door scratches that would be great if you could make them disapeer but I didn't know if the light polishing would be fine since its so new.

Also, do you have JUST an exterior detail? Her interior is fine, nothing needed in there.

And what is the price difference listed on your website, for example..($85/$110) Is that between a car/truck? what would you consider her toyota matrix?

Lastly, would I be able to customize for what I want/need done to the vehicle?

Thanks

Matt

Matt, Give me a call on the cell phone this evening after 4pm 614-747-0002 and I'd be glad to work out a custom package for you.

Here's a description of what the clay bar does. It should be done about once a year to properly remove contaminants from the paints finish.

Some of those cars on your site are badass. Is the black sports car a nsx or ferarri. What kind of expectations can be had with the ultimate package? I have used vehicles and they have had years of people putting the wrong chemicals on them.

Jason, Thanks for the compliments. The black car is an NSX that was done on a horribly snowy day. Owner loaded it in a trailor and took off when i was finished. In looking at my site I need to update it. I didn't put any of the cool cars I did this season up on the site yet. The factory Porsche 930 turbo slantnose, Porsche 356, and 68 Shelby GT500E are some cars I did this summer that need to get up there to show off.

As for expectations....well with the Ultimate you should expect that the paint is going to be the best that it can be without having body / paint work done. Some paints react better to restoration than others While I cannot guarantee it will be showroom fresh I will spend hours on it making it the best I can without compromising life of the paint.

If you're concerned that your car might be past the point of no return I'd be more than willing to come out and inspect the car in person and maybe quickly work on one pannel to give you an example of how it will turn out when I'm finished. I've turned away business before becuase I simply didn't feel I could do much for a car through a detail. Sometimes the owners see this as honesty...sometimes they get pissed because they feel i should be able to fix anything.

Dr. Z06, mm1999GT, Orion and others on this board are all customers of mine that you could approach for an independant opinion on my work.

This was what the 10 yr old NSX looked like pre-detail.

during (right side is done...left is not)

after: Horrible shot but you get the idea. NO more swirls showing around the reflection of the lights. You can still see some hazing partially from the light and partially because I still had to finish up with the light polishing to bring out the full gloss in the paint.

Actually my memory must be going...it was a '68 GT500 KR ...not even sure where I came up with the E...was there such a car?

Another poor day means bad quality indoor photos.

wow hot car...you do good work.

I live about an hour north of you, but I am sure my car will be needing the deluxe job this spring. I was thinking about doing it now, but I figure all this salt is going to be on my car soon enough. Once its done snowing, my rims are going back on and you can have at her.

Hey Andy, Sorry I haven't gotten ahold of you yet. My wife had surgery this morning (nothing serious) but I've got my hands full taking care of her and our 6month old daughter. I'll get with you I promise, probably sometime next week. Thanks

No Hurry man. I'm around pretty much whenever. Best wishes your wife for a speedy recovery. Having 2 surgery's in the last 2 years myself I know it's never a fun deal trying to recover.

  • 3 weeks later...

There is no doubt that Andy is the man when it comes to the professional detail. He took care of the M3 on Saturday. We had great weather too! Here are a couple pics I took

Before:

I'll get a couple more on a sunny day to show how sweet it really turned out.

Thanks Andy!
