Routing speaker wire under carpet

So I got this semi-bad ass home theater system for x-mas. Now the problem lies with the speaker wire for the two rear speakers.

I have no experience in routing said wires, hence the post. I wondered if anyone here has any experience in doing this work, and may be possibly interested in routing it for me. I don't believe that it would take longer than 15-20 minutes with the right tools and experience. It's only two wires that need to be routed about 12-15ft.

If anyone has any experience with doing this, it would be greatly appriciated. Of course I would be willing to pay for the services rendered, hit me up pm or reply. Thanks guys.

Are they going in a living room with basement below? If so, you can simply drill holes into floor, and run your wires along the rafters and drill back up through the floor where the receiver is. Or get yourself a really long drill bit (odd lots very cheap), cut a opening in the wall and go down through floor this way. Run your wires through it the same way. Then cover up the hole with a outlet cover designed for hooking up equipment for a more professional look. Cover can be found for a couple of bucks at radio shack. As far as carpet goes you will probably want to stay close to the base boards so as not to see it through carpet or possibly damage it. The easiest way is to get a long pull wire. Just be careful not to do to much damage to the carpet tack strips. If you start pulling the carpet away from the strips you will need to possibly stretch it back to get it tight again.

pull the carpet up and run them under. or, if you have enough wire, usually you can tuck them in to the corner underneath the baseboard and behind the carpet, and run them around to where you need to be. this way, no drilling, and all you have to do to undo it is pull the wires out.

Hell you can just grab ahold of it and lift up. Or get a screwdriver under it and lift. The bad thing about taking up the entire section of carpet is to get it reattached to the tack strip will rquire a kneekicker. And if your carpet is newer and the back hasn't stretched out enough or it is too old you will need a room stretcher to get it back in place. Your best bet is to go Home Depot and go to the plumbing section. Get the cheapest drain auger they have probably $5-10. All it is is a long metal thin wire. Snip off the auger end. Pull up as little amount of carpet as needed like a 1 inch section enough to get the wire into and fish it across the room. Do the same with the carpet on the otherside. Once you get the wire through the second side take some plyers and make a hook on the wire and attach you speaker wire to it and its a good idea to wrap some tape on it to keep it attached as you pull it back across. If you just take up a very small section of the carpet enough to get the wire through than you wont have to worry about the tack strips. If you dont want to buy the fish tape(metal wire), then look for anykind of rigid substitute. You may have to do it in sections to keep the wire close to the wall so you wont see it or damage it like I said in my first post. Or if all else fails you can do like evan said and just take a scredriver and tuck it down beneath the baseboard and the carpet.

Hopefully you dont live in an apartment where they glued down the carpet.

These costed like 5 bucks, dont know why the paint looks cracked... it wasn't... maybe you could put these in and put wire under the floor

I didn't connect the wires with this tape, it has numbers or letters so the wire could be connected to the right input at the bottom
