It should be law that you have to show the title with your name on it and a copy of a birth certificate before you can claim to own any cars.

 

I can gladly show you a title, although it will have my dad's name on it for insurance reasons. I admit the car makes me spoiled, but I earned it.

Yea, when it saves me like $600+ a year I'll go ahead and keep it in his name. I had already talked to my insurance agent about changing it to my name and he strongly recommended that I not do that.

 

Thats cool, where you going to college?

 

I'm at Columbus State in their Auto Tech program.

only shit thing is if you wreck your car and hurt someone, then they can sue your dad since the car is in his name. take some responsibility

 

Well it was his decision to keep the car in his name. It was originally in his name because I got the car when I was 17, and he agreed with the insurance agent that it should stay in his name. And I would assume that he knows the legal ramifications of this because he's a lawyer.
