Guest FooFooMaru
I heard about that on the news. Kids in college and stoff are having that ring tone because "older" folks can not hear it and all that. Funny but ummm der Vibrating is an option?!?! haha

smokin5s
I heard it... but it didn't sound distinct enough to realize my phone was rining... it sounded more like a monitor that had a bad refresh rate and then some laughing.... oh, I'm

coty061885
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/12/05/earlyshow/living/main1095665.shtml Hope I'm not ruining anything for ya, Mowgli. But, I searched google for the title of the sound clip and found this article. It's a sound emmited by a device outside of a convenient store meant to repel loitering youth. Guest FooFooMaru
Vibraters make clearly audible noise. In a quiet office, it's loud. I was thinking more along the line of college classroom and such things. A loud pitch sound....anywhere is usually heard by the majority as we have seen on this board. Unless you go to your highschool reunion when you're 50+ and you're showing off your new hearing aid. hah.
Mowgli1647545497
You're right coty. And you're right too Sam. It started as a product to annoy loitering punks outside shops. Kids, being the ever resourceful ones, have co-opted it to use as a "stealth" ringtone. The older you get sooner or later you'll not be able to hear the high pitched tone. We all lose high pitch hearing, some sooner than others (depends alot on how much loud music you listen to). I grew up with my dad being in a band so I've been subjected to a lifetime of loud music and at 38 I don't hear a damn thing except the background ambient street noise in the clip. I wanted to see if this really worked. The average age at which people no longer hear it is 25. so if you can hear it older than that, kudos for not ruining your ears with rock n roll. The medical stuff: http://www.merck.com/mrkshared/mmanual/section7/chapter85/85i.jsp And the makers of the product: http://www.compoundsecurity.co.uk/teenage_control_products.html I wanted to experiment because of course I'm thinking OH THE FUN I COULD HAVE WITH THIS AND A DUFFLE BAG AT A LITTLE LEAGUE GAME..... muh ha ha ha ha

Buck531
I can't hear shit. No high pitch noise or anything. Just some kids laughing in the background towards the end. I'm 30. wife came down and said the same thing. She's 29 (I think).
6 Speed S4
I heard it, sounds like a garbage truck stopping then little kids hitting a pole and laughing.. def. hurt my ears tho Im 17 btw
SquirrelyNutsDSP
I heard it and I'm 23. Really annoying, more like painful if too loud, and I obviously woudn't choose it for a ringer. I'll stick to vibrate.
