Previously, it was limited to 75 x 75 pixels because the early days of CR had many people still on dial-up and having a smaller avatar meant people had less bandwidth to download. Now, most people are on high-speed internet of some type, so the avatar size has been increased to 125 x 125 pixels only for Admins, Mods/Super Mods, and Senior Members. Call it a benefit of being around for awhile or being active on CR moreso than others.
