zeitgeist57
Indestructible. My wife had one. Went 230k miles without any major problems. She sold it to her college roommate who gave it to her boyfriend to autox. It lasted up to 280 before blowing something major (I can't remember). Autocrossing a car with over 200k miles and have it last another 80k miles FTW.
Rally Pat
Love em, almost bought one about a week before the MR2. The seller didn't get back to me in time, or else I would have bought it.

Got-Boost?
Not just great but AMAZING cars. My brothers first BMW was a "325esi" or "325es" and it had 180k on it when he bought it. Drove it for two years and sold it for the same amount he bought it for with 325k-miles...
HotCarl
I work with a girl who restored older bmw's with her dad. She had an ex who had a similar body style'd 3 series and didn't do an oil change for 15k, she changed it for him and said hardly any oil came out of the pan, refilled and the car lived on. I called BS but she swears by it. I would'nt mind an older 318 2 door, light, RWD, and a super charged just went on the market for them. Grassroots motorsports mag just did a write up on one about a year ago.

Dr. Apex
Their also cheap enough to make great budget racers these days, they are still very competitive in autocross and road racing.
