baron_
I'm still new to Columbus - don't really know where to go to not get 'beat' by a shop I've had great experiences with 'mad hatter exhaust' - great guys at reasonable prices I'm putting new springs, shocks, air drag bags and spacers/lifts on my car taking off the old air shocks (hate them - leaking...etc) It's easy if i take it to a shop and they have a lift Shouldn't take but 20 minutes to install - a bolt on each side of the shock and bolt the new one one maybe 20 minutes a side.... At most, might have to use a spring compressor to slip the new springs in after i put the spacer in (a 4" platform the spring sits on, to lift the rear end of the car a little to get some meat under it) anyways, any suggestions? I've even got no-hop bars i wouldn't mind installing i could do it all - but i'd freeze my ass off crawling under it while it sat on jack stands - i'd rather pay someone a few bucks and save my cusswords for another week
Guest Removed
front springs you can take the lower control arm down at the frame, then you dont need a spring compressor, or to touch the ball joint.(i do it all the time, makes it easy) we are 2 doors down from mad hatter. first link in my sig..call and speak with mike. baron_
rear coil springs, not front springs i'm wanting to put a 4" lift kit in - might require a compressor to get the springs in there with that it's a '66 GTO the coils aren't even bolted to the axle literally, 2 bolts I had them apart about a month ago and should have replaced it all back then I put new springs in it at the time - was hoping they would be enough to lift the rear end evidently, i need the spacers (and the air shocks are 30 years old - probably just need replaced) and i got a good deal on air drag bags to put in the springs
Guest Removed
topic says installing shocks/springs/bags/lifts any of the above. we can swing it. and you spoke of a spring compressor(making me think front as well). and a 4" spacer...they may be tough to fit
