OSUGT
Scam. He'll offer to send a check for shipping with some random amount and ask you to refund the difference.

TTQ B4U
Tell him to get his ass to Cbus with cash in hand or row his boat back home. Scam.

Wease
At least get the check from him (send to a P.O. Box maybe?) and see what happens. But yeah, this is a scam...
Patrick
I told him I won't ship it out of state, nor would I sell it to be shipped out of state (i would if it was someone who actually called me and asked details on the car)

copperhead
local pickup only and if you have to ask if it's a scam, just assume that it is. Why would someone in florida be looking at cars for sale here on craigslist?
Patrick
Idk, but someone found my T-5 for sale on craigslist who was in huntsville, alabama.
Bam
Idk, but someone found my T-5 for sale on craigslist who was in huntsville, alabama. +1, some guy came and bought my notchback a few weeks ago from Maryland. Some people just look around and are willing to travel I guess.
Patrick
Yep. He paid the shipping, so I didn't mind.
Ramsey
Even after the check "clears" it could still comeback bad. My buddy had the shipping scam done to him, on a dirt bike.
Patrick
If the car isn't mentioned at all in the initial email, I become weary. He pretty much didn't want to know anything on the car, just my information.

Akula
Tell him, CASH ONLY, IN PERSON ONLY.
cptn janks
of course this is a scam. its the second one listed on the craigslist scam page... just like OSUGT said, he will send you a check that exceeds the amount of sale and shipping. he will say that he "trusts" you and ask you to refund the difference to him, or send it to his buddy who he owes some money too... the catch is that its a fake check that he will send you. the bank often will cash it and give you the money, but two weeks later once it goes to processing, they will find out its a fake and hold YOU personally accountable for it, since YOU were the one who deposited it. TheHaze
send him a fake return check w/ powdered sugar in it so he thinks its anthrax. Then again, there's always the option of real anthrax.
Got-Boost?
At least screw with him for a while and make him think about giving up on the scams (for a split second). Get him to send it overnight or something so he is out of pocket a few bucks.... Tell him it's a really good deal and you'll throw in some naked pics of his sister or Mom as part of the deal....
