turbomark
A friend is going to look at a s13 240 with a blacktop sr20det swap today. The car itself has a lot of miles on it and supposedly the transmission is hard to shift after beating on it for a while (a small leak as well from tranny). Is there anything specific that we should be looking for as far as known problem areas? Are the tranny issues a normal thing and if so is there an easy fix without throwing on a new trans? boosted98gst
just watch out for ragged out cars that have been "drifted to hell" and new sr trannys are only 300$ from any car shop.
Vander
A good way to tell usually how the car has been treated is taking off the oil pan, and taking a look at what's in it.

The only damage you'll find from drifting would be external damage. lol Tranny's are cheap and take 40 minutes to swap. Don't tell me this is a dark blue hatchback though, plz? byhi
leaking sr20 tranny's are really a normal thing. that means something it broken or beaten pretty hard. however if you are the cheap fixer type you can slap on the KA24DE tranny. they are tough as hell but are geared like a truck. however they are cheaper than dirt.
