Ok, lets get a few things straight. First off, I am a college student. A poor one. LS1's are out of the question. Second, the 2.3 turbo swap can be completed in a weekend. Third, I wont be doing this swap for a long time, and it just seems like a lot of you dont want to be spanked by a 4 cyl truck.

Not worried about that in the least. I think they are trying to tell you to not waste the time or effort to just have a slow POS, instead do something unique with your time and money. If you are worried about spending money than a turbo project is the last thing you should think about doing, especially on a daily driver.

congrats on ur buy. i thought you were buying daves truck. i sugest getting some big ass tires and a lift kit and lets go offroading.

This is Dave's truck, I just ended up buying this and not the Toyota. You must not have read the first post Martin, but this truck, if I even decide to do a 2.3 turbo swap, will be for going fast. If anything, I will lower it several inches.

Remember, if I do any of this, it will be a while before I do it. And if I do do it, it wont be my daily anymore. I plan to run more boost, or even a different turbo, backed by a Megasquirt with the EEC-IV adapter.

You dont know the story of why I didnt buy the toyota. I am not going to elaborate here.

And Martin, there seems to be one thing that you haven't picked up yet as a CR newbie. You have to shake off the haters, and tell them where to stick it sometimes.
