black00ws6
Sometimes southwest has deals of 99 each way, non stop to vegas. Hotel prices vary...
Smokey
I wish you the best, but flight prices to Vegas have been pretty high lately. I'm going out next week, and my round trip flight was $350 with one stop each way in Salt Lake. Southwest was not the cheapest in any respect (about $190 each way). I'm flying Delta. Hotels haven't changed much though. I'd just keep an eye out for what you think is a decent deal and jump on it when you can. Chances are that any of the major websites will get you as good of a deal as a travel agent would. http://www.kayak.com -best kept secret in web-booking. When did you book?? We went in march and paid about 220 total each, and going in October, which is going to be 300 each. Just searched on SW site and you can fly out on oct 29, come back on nov 1 for 258, non stop flights.
Akula
Vegas is tricky, it can be really expensive when the town has loads of conventions and can be really cheap. A travel agent will not save you money, look on kayak.com or travelworm.com for a deal and then book with the respective airline/hotel. Hotels in vegas are cheaper if you show up on tuesday and the weekend rates are expensive because of all the traffic from SO-CAL. Flexible travel is the best way to do it, and by the way you aren't buying early, early is 331 days out. Right now if you leave on 10/30 and return on 11/2 you are looking at $250 +++ taxes/fees, that is the cheapest date combination. Hotels are pretty expensive for that timeframe, Whiskey Pete's (ghetto) is $21/night. On strip you are closer to $200/night.
Smokey
I may have booked somewhat late (first week in July), but it certainly wasn't last minute or anything. I looked EVERYWHERE and couldn't find a better deal without the departure/arrival times being completely screwed up. Perhaps it was just the time that I went out as well, but I figured August wouldn't be a big tourist time in Vegas, since it's going to be HOT! Supplicium
I get frequent visitor discounts 69 a night weekday and 89 a night on the weekends for both harrahs and mgm casinos. Book directly with the hotel your staying at if you have a players card if you dont have one book through expedia, i usually do 3 nights at TI, direct flight to vegas and comes out to like 600 bucks from expedia but usually booking direct with specials might save you 1-2 hundred. l36tols1
What/how did you book, what was the cost? Just checking my math. Flight was cheaper then I expected (southwest - just below 260 bucks round trip) So I spent a little more on the hotel Staying at New York New York. Which is a little more then $200 a night.
