After my vacation in Maine and having a chance to do some kayaking while there and then some more in the last couple of weeks here locally, I decided to give it a try and picked up a new toy for next to nothing. Looking forward to getting the rest of my gear and getting out some before the season is over this year.

i did some hunting on a private pond and the guy said i could use his kayak to set out decoys. usually after i was done id take it across the pond a couple times. good fun

I live pretty close to Hoover Reservoir, so I'm probably going to get a lot of paddle-time in there.

I can't find very much information on this one other than it was the predecessor of the Perception brand and was made in the late '80s. Name on the deck is Riverchaser.

Sweet find. I like to go kyacking with my parents at their house on charles mill lake. I don't do it often enough though, but when I do I am out on the water for good 4-5 hours.

i whitewater kayak. its a lot of fun. my old kayak is a perception, but im trying to sell it and get a new one.

 

you will definitely appreciate the workout that kayaking is. i noticed a huge difference in my shoulders when i started.

And you're probably wondering why I'm back so early. Well, this kayak is a piece of crap. It doesn't track (go in a straight line) for shit and it will randomly just spin you around for no reason. It's too hard to control and it's basically just a pain in the ass to maneuver. I won't have this one very long and I'll be looking at better ones right away.

Do you really need to license that thing?

Yes, me and my dad got ticketed the first time we went out. We didn't know you had to register a 10 ft long piece of molded plastic.

 

With that said, we are selling ours, my dad can no longer go kayaking and I just have other hobbies. His is sold already but mine is still up for grabs, has paddle, bungee, and a half skirt and full skirt. It tracks great!
