Guest cargirl2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Report Share Posted October 31, 2007 Does anyone know what the deal is with this guy? my friend recommended him for years and then I heard her tell someone recently that she no longer did. apparently the guy got paid in advance and then disappeared with her money. (something over $500!) I think she said something about being sad to have to probably take him to court to get her money back. Guest cargirl2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Report Share Posted October 31, 2007 thanks for the information. she went to his place several times and couldn't find him, she left calls and text messages for weeks, and she has also sent certified mail. if he doesn't respond to that, she already knows she'll have to take him to court. it's pretty sad, knowing someone would screw someone over like that! I will tell her though to join and post in that place, I know she was concerned about posting herself out of fear he might do something since he knows where she lives. I joined here to warn others since no one warned my friend. however, since she and I are females and now neither of us have a "go to guy" and know little about cars, I'm here in the long-term to learn about cars so I don't allow myself to be one of those ignorant females who gets screwed over again and again by mechanics who know they can lie to us because they don't know any better. I have had a few conversations with him and met him at his shop a few times. He has always seemed a straight up honest guy. He told me honestly what he thought about several vehicles I considered having him do some work on. By him being honest with me, it saved me from dropping money into projects that werent worth it, thus costing him potential work. Its hard to believe a guy that was honest enough to not just take my money, and do a shitty project, has knowing "ripped" your friend off. Guest cargirl2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 Since everyone is asking for details, I asked her to email me and here's the details: she paid him over $500 in advance so he could pick up the parts for her car (I think she said there were 4) which he was supposed to do all the work at one time. she got to him, he said he didn't have time to pick up 3 parts, but did something with the 4th part. the part didn't fix the problem (not sure if it was new or used), he said he'd finish the other 3 and figure out the issue with the part he just put on the following week when they met. she's been calling and sending texts, stopping at his shop, and sending certified mail for the 6 weeks since. he's not responding. she thought it was weird since he was great to her for over 3 yrs and thought maybe he was sick or something bad. so she called someone she knows is close with him, who said he was fine. still no answer. I told her you guys were all saying it must be wrong and she said that's what she thought at first too, it's why she called his friend, but that for whatever reason, he's not responding or returning her money. Maybe there IS some good reason he went missing and hasn't contacted her, I don't know, but I can't imagine what would make him do that that would mean he couldn't call and tell her. It's not as if he doesn't know he's been paid for work and parts she never got! Anyway, that's the story. Believe it or not, I know she's pretty upset both because the work never got done but more because she trusted him too. Guest cargirl2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 yes, she went up twice but he wasn't there either time (he's the only one who works there). she's a full-time student and works 2 jobs, plus volunteer work so she doesn't have a lot of free time, but she left notes on the door both times she went. she's also left voicemails almost daily now that it's been so long, sent text and myspace messages, and a certified letter. Not sure what's going on with him but I feel badly for her since she works so hard for her money and really can't afford to buy holiday gifts and stuff without this money back since she's going to have to pay someone else to get her car taken care of. I have known him around 10 years and know he whould not damage his good name on purpose. ridenred27 Posted November 1, 2007 Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 first off i dont care to air my personal fucking buisness on any public forum. i owe back child support and go to court in the morning. if found guilty i will be doing 90 days in jail so with that said i have been working like a fucking slave for the last 2 months. working this way so i can get my owed money paid. in the last two days i have got like 4 hours sleep.for kriss and her car she paid 500 for a fuel pump and the install of the pump( gm factory part stil have the old one and the recipt for the new one) pump installed as she waited and read a book as she waited. SO NO PAY AND RUN SITUATION. keep accusing some one without facts and FUCK OFF. i have her new radio and her fan, both at the shop. (raido is a gm cd player not exactly cheap) both given to cuz she has been a good customer.before you decide to bring up anything else krisses wipers have absolutly nothing to do with her fuel pump, that there is just a random new problem( it is an american car THEY FUCK UP). with her scedule and mine i was not able to get her in and now i am so wrapped up in projects i am a little scatter brained.there is a few people i have totally forgot about not intentionaly (sp) but the stress of 90 days over my head and the lack of sleep its real easy to say i will call back in a bit and then realize its 2am and need to go home. scott forgot scotts dad forgot yohan forgot kriss forgot, eric and jens wedding could not go working, stillmans reception again working sorry to all listed and to those not. hell i didnt even get to take my babe boy connor trick or treating tonight, i did get to see him for a bit. lil dude was a cowboy this year for those that want to know. if you dont care piss off and skip this part.i am in no way or have ever been or ever will rip anyone off. that is flat not my style. now if all goes as i would like it to go i will be a free man tomorrow. i will still be busy through this weekend why ................. i will tell you i am first going to get some well deserved sleep, then i am going to fuck my lady like a PORN STAR, gonna drink a couple gallons of beer, and i am giong to take the weekend off. tell kriss i will be in touch the beginning of the week. i think that i deserve it.
