The real crooks are the ones that charge $4 a galllon when they could just as easily make a profit and keep their companies afloat with $2 per gallon. TTQ B4U
most C-stores are owner operated and supply operations are being sold by the manufacturers to private distributors, so the billions in profits aren't going into their pockets, they are making pennies on the gallon as the middle men. in this case, he was stealing from a guy just trying to run his distribution business not from the corporation itself. as a distributor he's getting raped before me and you. If you steal from a thief is it really stealing? The real crooks are the ones that charge $4 a galllon when they could just as easily make a profit and keep their companies afloat with $2 per gallon. cptn janks
Although Wells denied selling any fuel, the other man admitted he purchased about 200 gallons of diesel fuel from Wells. Wells then admitted to the sale and said he sold the gas for $1.50 per gallon, a discount of $1.89 per gallon from the price at the time. The value of the stolen gas that day was $745.80. 200 gallons * 1.50 = 300 dollars 1.50 + 1.89 = 3.39 3.39 * 200 =678 so where did they get 745.80? Patrick
I was talking to someone I know yesterday about oil, and I hear the Saudis are pumping seawater into their reserves? Anyone confirm/deny this?

Avenger1647545502
It increases the yield of the oilfield. Oil comes out because it is under pressure. What happens once you've taken out enough oil to reduce the pressure? So you pump seawater down to maintain the pressure in the oil bearing rock and force more oil out. Yep, it is normal when you are pumping oil.
silverhatch
200 gallons * 1.50 = 300 dollars 1.50 + 1.89 = 3.39 3.39 * 200 =678 so where did they get 745.80? It could be the value of wholesale price vs. retail price, but maybe they just don't know how to multiply. This happened quite a while back. The guy worked for another division of the company that my husband works for. Rumor has it he had been doing this for quite a while before he actually got caught. kinkinhood
At least he seems more crafty than that one lady who worked at a gas station and would change the price to 1 cent a gallon for 10 minutes while her family came over and pumped up. jeffmeden
Get outta here with that socialist bullshit. Quite true. Anyone who wishes for this is asking for a bigger problem than we already have. A basic economics class should have taught you one thing; if there's no oil surplus selling it at $3.89 a gallon, there sure as hell won't be any selling it at $1.89 a gallon. What would happen? Gas stations would sell their week's worth of gas in a day, and if you came on the wrong day you wouldn't be able to get gas. Next thing you know, the government is giving out gas coupons and you can only legally get enough gas to go 200 miles a week. But, thank God, it only costs you $35 to fill up instead of $60. Good luck visiting your family out of state!
Buck531
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12464789/ Check that shit out. Actually. The cost in Iraq is like .35 cents a gallon, netherlands was the highest at around $8 a gallon, etc. I saw it on the nbc nightly news tonight.
