Sam1647545489
Well we all went boating today out at buckeye lake, and I had one of my motors lock up on my boat. It is a rotax 110hp motor. I think the motor either seized or something else bad. It wont start, or even turn over, it just makes a thud sound when trying to start as if it is locked. Anyone have any idea what these motors cost to replace? I know it is a vague question but I thought I would ask..
GRN96WS6
There was a dude on here that worked on boats or knew a decent amount about them. Assured Risk I want to say. My boss has a Yamaha jet boat and one of his motors locked up at the end of last season and it was replaced under warranty and he never found out the cost. If I had to guess I would say for new 4K might try finding a used one though.
BDHG940
My Uncle had some sort of jet motor lock up under warranty and they said it would have costed him 7-8 thousand.
wnaplay1647545503
Buckeye lake is one of the worst lakes to boat in. I had it destroy one of my boats as well. Check to see if anything got pulled into it in the shallow water.

I'm not sure if they work on jets, but it doesnt hurt to ask. Check out their website too for any questions/references. You'll be impressed. http://www.totalmarineperformance.com/
TimTaylor751647545500
I was out there today on my buddy's pontoon. Spent some time at Captain Woody's & Papa Boo's with all the bikers. Work is going to suck tonight after that day. Sam, post a pic of your boat (if you have one).
Nitrousbird
That sucks. I know I was devistated when my motor blew up on the water a few years ago...ruined my boating year.
Tindall2006
Yeah, if you didn't suck any water in it, or suck anything into the jet, you probably dumped a oil pump. If you did, my best advice is to dump the Oil pump and put a cover plate on it. Then just run mixed gas.

Tindall2006
O yeah, Rotax engine's are pretty easy to rebuild, you can always get the parts off ebay and do it yourself.
Tindall2006
I read the beginning post again... Have you tried jump starting it? That Thud sound is common of a bad solinoid or shitty battery.

slow4now
Boats are always better when someone else owns them.
Nitrousbird
Boats are always better when someone else owns them. I 100% disagree. I far prefer owning my own. I get to decide when/where I take my boat out. Sometimes I just like to have a little cruise out with me and my fiancée, sometimes I want to go out with a whole bunch of people. People have to work around my schedule to go boating, not vice-versa. I can't wait until I can upgrade to a bigger boat.
