I have decided to put the car up and see what kind of interest I can build. I bought the car some time ago to mock up turbo kits for production. The kit is complete and the car is running right now. it might have 20 miles on it since the kit was together and made good power considering we were only revving to 4k and didnt have the correct fuel pump. There is a cooling issue I cannot figure out and have no idea. It gets warm and I dont know what else to do. I dont have time to mess with it, there is no coolant in the oil as I checked that today to be sure. Mods

 

70mm single turbo kit

3" full stainless intercooler piping and downpipe

open downpipe, it doesnt have a cat back but I have a race bullet to go with it

3" intercooler

42# injectors and calibrated maf

255 intank

base tune put on the car by dyno tune and custom chip

painted most of the engine bay when it was apart to clean everything up

short shifter

head studs and gaskets just done on the car

150k on the car but the motor was replaced with a motor that had 70k before I got the car

bigger tb and plate

nitto drag radials on the rear and skinnies up front. Mounted on welds

 

I dont know what Im leaving out but im sure there is a few things. It needs to have a final tune as well since it wasnt completely tuned when we had the fuel issue. Im sure brian at dyno tune will get you taken care of, its already close. Someone just needs to know more about the car than me or just have a little more time.

 

Im not moving on the price, that is what I want and if I cannot get that, Ill keep the car. Photos will be posted up later tomorrow of the car. If you want to talk, pm me your number and Ill call

I'll vouch the car looks great too. I saw you on Polaris but when I was pulling up you turned off.

have see the car first hand, and would like to say its a well built turbo car, and the body of the car is in great condition. it has never been beat on with this turbo setup. Garage kept. Good luck chad, if i can get approved consider it sold.

Miller, what were you in? Didnt even see you but since there are still a few things to work out on this car, I cant really make many pulls. Plus over 4k its not tuned for the new pump anyhow so it goes really rich since it was compenstating for the lack of the 255 when I was at dyno tune last time

I was in the pig just a ways back. And I'm just talking shit 4k or not would get me. if my kit were complete you know I would be at every parking lot moon walking and starting shit with people. What fuel setup did you try to tune on originally?

The body in the photos make it look perfect and its not perfect. You can see the clear on the rear bumper is flaking some and I think you could buff most of the clear off and it would look ok. If anyone wants to meet to see it, just let me know

dude I bought it from said it had a 255 in it and it was the damn stock pump. So it didnt like boost at all and fuel pressure would drop everytime at 3k, the second the engine would see boost. It made I think around 380/430 or something like that only at 4k~. There is a lot left in it and that was only 7.5psi

Ya because the stock pumps often said walbro on them people will try to pull that shit on you too. The numbers sound great though. I hope my shit holds together at 9 psi (I haven't done the studs or gaskets!).

 

Good luck and build another, I need a partna for the summer.

i guess richie rich is not going to give me time to get rid of a few cars to buy his. If that falls through Im not going to sell, Ill find out tomorrow for sure but I might not sell now if that is the case.

Car needs a final tune from Dyno Brian and fix the cooling issue. The cooling issue could be thermostat, needs a high flow water pump, or larger rad. There is a lot more heat generated with all that exhaust and HP under the hood now.

 

It is one wicked car even on 7 psi. Flashes those 275 DRs like there spare tires. It is a well put together turbo kit. I helped do some of the tig welding and fab on the mock.

i was going to get a tbss for a daily and was just selling a few car to get some of it paid for. I guess the dude is going to be impatient and not give me time to get things straightened out. I guess I would still sell it but...

 

Grant covered most of that, if I had a clue on the cooling issue I think I would just keep it. I started to have turbo kits fabbed up and instead of just building the kit, I just keep dumping money in the car building it when its pointless for me to keep going on this. I just needed it for mockup and now its just short of being on the road, cooling and tune. I know for sure it needs the mechanical fan put back on for sure and a shroud which I do not have.

ha yea I guess, its just a cool daily I think. Considering my dad is the diehard chevy guy(has a few I think in his car stash) he might approve of it. 5.0 is still up for grabs though, Steven Ill pm you my number and dads shop address where the car is sitting now. I can meet you there tomorrow and show you the car and drive it around the place if you want.

 

If I didnt have 3 mustangs right now I guess I woudnt sell it but since im going to be in the turbo business for a little time it look like, they will come and go. It served it purpose and who know, maybe next spring time another 70mm(+) build might come out..........5.0, 4.6, 5.0 less pushrods ????
