just a question, maybe someone else has asked this before.

 

what are you guys gonna do when everyone has black wheels? it seems like 25% of the members on this site have black wheels.

 

i hate black wheels, i can somewhat understand black/black if you can keep it clean or put it in shows, i appreciate originality or the 'wanting to be different' aspect of having your wheels blacked out, but...

 

this is the next 'alteeza' mod...i see so many cheesy riced out cars with black rims now, and to make it worse i've seen quite a few stock cars with stock rims painted (with what looked like spray paint) black...there is a girl in my Chem class who got a Mustang for her birthday and is bragging on how she's going to 'murder' it out.

 

does anyone else notice this? i dunno why it even bothers me, i must have sand in my vagina.

They'll be murdered out while wearing their "famous stars and stripes" clothes. Black wheels are just so damn sexy though. For a while it was Bronze wheels that were getting played out atleast here in the ricer world.

i dont know kirk and i have never seen his car, so my statement still stands that ive never seen another on the road like mine....what is a better route to go with wheels? chrome? isnt chrome just as played out as black? maybe i should put purple wheels on my car....then i can be cool!

+1...at first glance I thought that was Kirk's car until I looked closer.

 

I'm not a fan of the look either...my track wheels are black but that's becuase of all of the brake dust and buildup crap that track wheels take. Street wheels will not be black on my cars anytime soon....just not my thing.

 

BUT...it's all just a personal preference in the end. Should we really care?

To me, black is as non-descript a color as silver. I choose it because I like the way it accents certain cars. I like the anti-bling aesthetic. As far as the fad of "murdered out", it'll pass and give way to "whatever", and I'll still try to find an overall satisfying (to me) appearance for whatever vehicle I have.I've owned four cars respectively :

 

1.Red w silver wheels

2.Black on black

3.Red w silver

4.Black on black

 

Maybe im just boring.

I like the black wheels....well....becuase I do. Everyone has an opinion and until you start paying my car payment, I will continue to rock black wheels cause they're sexy. I prolly see like 2-3 cars a week with black wheels and to me thats not a whole lot considering thats out of like 1-2000 cars I see on a daily basis when driving.

To tell you the truth, I had zero intention of buying black centered wheels. I was going to get silver and then powder-coat them gold (still considering this, especially as more people go black). However I found a good deal on my wheels/tires barely used so I went for it with the intention of painting them right away.

 

Once on the car though I was surprised at how well they went with the black trim on the car and they seem to suit the car well. So I've become comfortable and let them stay.

there's no problem of liking black wheels, it's just i've been on this board since it began, and there was maybe a handful of people with black wheels...but recently they have been coming out of the woodwork...i know it's big for the stars in hollywood to do it now as well...

 

i had my old FD painted Viper blue because i like that color, but then the bright blues started becoming oh so popular in the rice world...that's why my new FD will not be that color again...i dunno i guess i just hate bandwagons. if i had black/liked black wheels, i'd be kinda upset that everyone has them as well because it's a fad.

 

btw, not trying to start a flame war...more or less interested in hearing how the 'murdered' out crowd feels.

i guess im not seeing where your logic is coming from..... chrome would be less played out? even though theres WAY more cars with chrome wheels than cars with black....or maybe brushed aluminum would be better right? like a huge amount of factory cars....
