Hello Everyone!

My name is Ian, i'm a Columbus native currently living in the Quad-Cities area in Illinois and Iowa. I'm here for work, working at the Rock Island Arsenal for the U.S. Army. I do make it back home to Columbus once a month or so.

I'm 26 and have been wrenching on cars since I was big enough to pick up a wrench. I always change my own oil and find it to be the measure of a real man.

I don't currently have a "real" sports car, though I'm saving all of my extra nickels to buy a C5 Z06 next spring/summer. Currently my daily driver is a 2005 Cadillac STS Northstar V8 (good for long drives and traveling). I also have two Hondas (which I don't consider sports cars for the record)...a 95 Del Sol and a 94 Prelude. They're fun to play with, and cheap to work on (and to destroy...I'm not out a lot of cash), but not a true sports car. At any rate, I'm new here and a car nut, so this place seemed like a natural fit.

My past vehicles include an 85 four-banger Mustang (my first car), an 87 Mustang 5.0 GT with factory T-Tops, 01 Volkswagen Jetta VR6, an 89 Pontiac Firebird, an 88 Chevy S-10, 91 Acura Integra, 94 3000GT SL, 94 Honda Prelude, 95 Honda Del Sol, and an 05 Chevy Trailblazer.

Next up, a late-model Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06, manual, possibly in black or dark blue. I'm partial to the Le Mans Commemorative Edition...but i'm looking for a car I can mod heavily and drive the wheels off of while not worrying about it being a collectible, so maybe not so much the Le Mans.

Nice intro, welcome. Good luck getting a "real" sports car. A Z06 definitely qualifies. :) Caddy is nice though ...

Thanks! I love my Caddy, it's my first of many to come. I'm dead set on a Z06, no more of this Honda business!

I feel sorry for you. I flew in Quad City International last year and drove to Eldridge.

There is nothing out there.

Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome!

Yeah, thanks for the condolences also. The Quad Cities is just full of all sorts of nothing to do...and i've been here working a contract gig for over a year now! Talk about being bored out of your skull! I had to go buy a PS3 and re-up my Netflix subscription!

Isn't that airport a treat? You understand why I drive here now...two hours in the Moline Airport, haircare, and tire center. Three hours in Chicago O'Hare, if my flight DOESN'T get canceled or delayed...which always happens...it's O'Hare!

Nice ride by the way!

Very nice intro. Welcome. If you look to sell the del sol, let me know, I have been looking for another DD. See boys and girls this is how you write an intro that doesnt start you out with neg rep and make you look like a fucktard.

Thanks man!

I don't get it when people post things that are so negative and obviously trying to look tough. I'll have to get pics of myself standing next to my Cadillac with my AR-15! lol :p At least it's not pink...(sorry, I couldn't resist, I know it was a cheap shot..my bad)

I've actually only driven my Del Sol about 10 miles in the last year since I bought it. I bought it from a kid at my last job for a decent price as a backup car to keep the miles off of my leased Trailblazer.

It's in good shape, so there's not really a chance of me selling it, but there will come a day eventually when i will. It has good fuel economy and looks sharp, though I could deal with not having the body kit and fart cannon...but it's a cheap car. Honestly I left it with my mom for her to drive...it's really funny to see the look on the faces of the ricer kids when they pull up ready to "race" and see my 56 year old mother driving it!

quad cities. close to where I was born. Clinton, IA. hey look at it this way, there is alot of corn fields out there. welcome to cr man.

Hey, thanks for the welcome man! Nice TA too!

I rag on it for being a bit boring, but this area is actually pretty nice. I've made a lot of great friends here and the people are really down to earth and friendly. It's a bit of a shock to be back in Columbus after being here so long  You can definitely tell the difference in people, it's just a different pace here.
