Hello,

I'm yet another obsessed Subie owner. Mine's a 2005 Impreza 2.5RS wagon. Yes, a wagon. Yes, the one without a turbo. It's been my project for a couple of years now. The suspension is fully built; nothing but the brake calipers and brake rotors are original. I'm finally starting to work on the engine as it's the only way left to get faster. The car is my daily, as well as our vacation car (we backpack and whitewater kayak, so the car gets us offroad into the mountains), and our competition car. We rallycross, autocross occasionally, and roadrally (TSD and MonteCarlo usually).

 

Mods list:

That trip you came on was pretty gnarly. Kept popping over crests to find the road covered in ice.

Glad I wont be around to deal with all of that snow fun this winter. Welcome to the board.

I really thought I was going to make it through that actually. The car was doing just fine pushing though about 2ft of snow. As I approached the road, the snow got deeper where the plows had thrown it up. The car drove up on top of it and then the wheels broke through. I ended up high centered on the skidplate. I dug out around the wheels, expecting to be able to keep going. Then I realized I had a foot of air under all 4 tires. So I had to dig the snow out from under the center of the car, gradually letting it fall back down to the ground. As soon as I got the tires back on the ground, I backed up and took a running start at the snow back. Busted through and went on to the meet :D

I love that pic. That was a fun run lets do another one. I got 2 wheels I need to get replaced but I've got road repair on them

Now that the cost of gas is down some, I really want to. Problem is that you can only do it on the weekdays right now. Too much traffic on the weekend.

I enjoyed the ones where we turned a corner and there was fucking snow like WTF. I am really leaning towards going rally vs drag racing. Going straight is fun but ehhh I enjoyed sliding around the corners and shit.

There is something satisfying about flying into a dirt corner at mach 5, hanging the ass out, and spraying ground into the air all the way around.

Yup, that's me. However, only the blue wagon and the black wagon actually belong here. The rest of those cars just show up because if they hang around long enough, their suspension will get upgraded. ;)

 

I swear, 6 months after I leave, a Subie's going to roll into the driveway and ask whoever is here "Hey, this is the place Subarus get worked on, right?" :D
