yea he was out at the LX nats this past year at trails. his best run was like 10.5 and the tranny was stuck in 3rd the entire way down the track. he also did a test run in rt. 40 and had all 4 tires up in smoke

nopar trans normal...back in the day when everyone used to run 727 trannys, they would be exploding like that if not worse.

727s are pretty stout trannys. I have seen stock ones with a deep pan and valvebody run high nines all day. If you start putting good parts in it, kevlar bands/aluminum drums/etc... they hold up well into the 800-900hp. Don't get me wrong its no powerglide, but its far from weak.

ask a old time drag racer that used to run one. they would shoot the front drum out of them thru the floor and about 400 feet in the air. thats why they mandate trans sheilds now!

I come from an all mopar family lol, I learned everything I know from old school mopar drag racers. While grenading a tranny isn't unheard of, its not just mopar specific as you make it seem. You're lucky I don't know much about ford junk.....well....besides the fact that your car is only fast on spray.
