KillJoy
Does any one fly on a reqular basis, or has flow recently, on Southwest Airlines? How was the experience? Is it still, first come, first seated? KillJoy
l36tols1
Yeah still first come first serve.. I've never had a problem flying with them.. They don't fly to Atlanta though...
Pedro1647545510
The seat order is actually determined by when you check in. You can check in online up to twenty four hours in advance and they will place you in a group based on when you check in and how many people checked in before you. The groups are A, B, or C and I think they are numbered too.. http://southwest.com/travel_center/checkin.html
mmrmnhrm
Last I flew, it was just A/B/C. A went first, then B, then C. But of all the airlines I've been on, SW is *easily* the best of them all.
Akula
They have a new 1-50 system, you get assigned a number and line up in order. They say "get on the plane" and you get first come first serve seat (unless you have the buy-up ticket, then you get a better seat).
TTQ B4U
much better than days gone by. A-B-C groups & #1-50 for standing in line. just check in online immediately 24hrs prior to the flight. You'd be surprised how all the A's and most of the B's check in within just a few minutes. big planes, friendly/almost goofy staff, and you pick the seat. not bad really. I don't fly them too often, but I enjoy it when I do.
mmrmnhrm
big planes, friendly/almost goofy staff, and you pick the seat. "almost" goofy??? Your flight must have been sober. Mine was singing "the wheels on the plane" as we began our take-off roll.
black00ws6
I love southwest.. Always use them when going to Orlando, Tampa or Vegas. And the 1-50 has been going on for some time now, doing away with the old way was a good thing.

Akula
Get a pair of crutches and a leg cast/thingy. They will give you priority boarding.
