Assholes, MRM and Snow Trails are fucking GAY! If youare bragging about skiing either of these establishments. Please click this Link. And before you start asking what I have done, I have done a Black Diamond here:

Lift

Agassiz

Terrain

Advanced

Length (feet)

6,450

Vertical(feet)

2,000

Top of Agassiz lift is like 10,xxx feet.

it's not Aspen, CO. But the black diamond there the first 1000 feet or so you lose mad elevation. Fuck MRM. I'll never waste a dime there again.

I snowboarded the Highlands bowl at aspen. You take lifts as far as you can go, then you take a snowcat ride a little further, then you hike the rest of the way to the top.

That was a good time.

This is where the snowcat picked you up (already as high as the lifts will take you). You started hiking where the trees end.

This is my friends and I at the very top after our hike, right before we went into the bowl

And this is part way down the bowl where I bit it. wanted to take a mid-way shot for posterity.

ive got to deal with what ive got.that is local...yet another reason why ohio is a fucking shit hole of nothin

It's funny.. I like Ohio. And I moved out here from Cape Cod. People like different aspects of different places. But ultimately, I think we all dislike wherever we grew up. It's easy to focus on the things we hate when we've spent our whole lives around them.

Wife and I ski at Aspen Snowmass, Her grandparents have had a condo there since the 50's :) they are both in their 80's now he ski's still but think's this may be the last ski trip there. They spend the months of Feb and Aug every yr there. We can't go this year becuase I had knee surgery, we may go out in Aug though. I love snowmass. I tried to ski at MRM for my first time it was very icey, I got pissed and quit after 30 minutes of trying and went to the bar. In snowmass I had lessons the 1st day and by the time we left I made it down "the slot" which is a black diamond. It's a very easy black :)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the people who go to Mad River and Snow Trails aren't looking for a weekend getaway or a cabin trip to Colorado. Instead, they MIGHT just like going somewhere in proximity to Columbus to have fun for a day and be back at work the next.

another boarder here...MRM is a fucking joke but the terrain park is ok i suppose...or at least much better this year than in the past IMO...I went to Copper, Keystone, A-basin, Vail and Breck in Colorado a couple years ago and then went to Mad River that same week I got back. I sat at the top of the hill and fuckin cried. I've also been to Holiday Valley, Seven Springs and Snowshoe and while they are a little bigger than MRM, east coast boarding just sucks ass period. Unless you like ice.

EXACTLY.

I end up going skiing once a year at most. I'll finally try snowboarding in the next week or two, at MRM.

I almost went to some resort in West Virgina to ski last year, but decided that going on a tropical cruise > freezing in WV.

No WV this year either, as Vegas for my 30th > freezing my ass off.

I love Ohio except for the winter. Screw the winter.
