zeitgeist57
Since I've got the pickup truck in my surburbanite extended family, I'm doing mulch runs over the next couple of weeks for my in-laws, UA neighbors, and myself. What is a good mulch for flower beds and around trees? I moved in my house last year and the PO was very meticulous with the gardens...she used what looked like pine bark. I think I remember hearing how pine was very acidic, and not good for trees??? IDK what I'm talking about... Anyway, recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I just want to go to Ohio Mulch and have them dump it in bulk into the back of my truck. A good quality/price balance is what I'm looking for: not the cheapest crap, but not the most expensive stuff offered either...
SpaceGhost
Hardwood mulch, it has manure mixed in it, I hate it though because it smells like shit. Looks good at first but bleaches out in sun. But if you have enough you turn it over it looks black again.

Johny Utah
Get the black dyed hardwood from Ohio mulch. Looks great and the color stays with it for a long time.
Linc5.0
Triple processed dyed hardwood. Pine bark looks really good, but runs out of the bed if alot of wind and rain cus its light....its also most expensive. I use Kurtz bros. and Mr. Mulch. Nitrousbird
What is cheap, looks okay, and doesnt really matter if it helps grow stuff or not (other than not killing any bushes). Our new place needs a LOT of mulch. Did I mention cheap?
