AWW$HEEET
Well, here are some pics of this monster I picked up. I am in the process of making a bobber out of a 1977 Harley XLH1000 Ironhead. After some hastle getting the title from the jackass I bought it from, Im on the way to stripping it down and rebuilding it. Goal is to create a minimalist bobber. The process of building the bike will guide me in the right direction, as for now Im planning a color scheme to include Olive Drab Green, Flat Black, and copper/gold accents. I may need some wiring help, because Im stupid when it comes to wiring, and this harness is a rats nest. Im in the process of probably buying a new one from J&P. The condition of the motor is also unknown at this point in time.

AWW$HEEET
What is a bobber? Pretty much anything you can find in here: http://www.ironhead-bobbers.com/ Kinda the same concept of rat-rod's, only with bikes.

Richard Cranium
I bought the replacement harness from J&P. Only thing is you have to solder all the connectors on, but otherwise it's a good idea. The wiring on yours is probably as hacked up/brittle/broken as mine was on my '75. Let me know if I can help, I don't have a lot of technical skill, but I have a lot of knowledge from my old cast iron bitch.

HAOLE
AMF Harley=chronic issues. My uncle had a 79 sportster. Nothing but issues with the cast iron jugs. They don't like to dissipate heat well. The leaking oil issues too, wear black pants! Good luck on the build!

Take your time, don't cheap out, do it right the first time and she'll treat you right. J&P has most everything you'll need. For everything else find a machine shop you trust. Col-Weld did all the machine work for mine. I have a crap ton of left over old parts from mine you're welcome to rummage though. Some rebuildable, some not. AWW$HEEET
will be posting some new pics soon Current issues are: 1.) Chrome! Everywhere! It needs to be stripped. I cannot figure out how to get this shit off. I have tried both media/sand blasting, and myratic acid. Nether have worked. The myratic acid fumes managed to also rust everything in my garage, my new bike, tools, any exposed metal surface, etc. 2.) Finding someone to anodize or durably paint, or otherwise produce gold or copper looking spoke nipples. 3.) Wiring and sorting out the engine. This is an 800lb gorilla right now.
