Clarks Diner in Jacktown (outside of Hebron) on st rt 13. Too bad they are closing Nov 1st due to "the family restraunt type of business has no place in todays society". It has been open for 91 years...

I have lived here for 5 years and this is the first time I have ever heard of the place. Maybe they need to get more people to talk about them lol.

Yes a shitty deal, but they would they still be open if people ate there? so something is off ??

I think its hard to compete with the drive through dollar menus,I,m sad Baja Fresh closed and to think of it they got most everything right, great food, clean no microwaves, probably the price killed them? their average ticket was $7.26 something like that... but they folded.

Back on topic, the reason I,m asking is it would be hell on wheels to eat at just "corporate" food so in that vein it would be great to hear of some favorites.

While not a restaruant still local and the BEST ice cream you can get anywhere, Jeni's. http://jenisicecreams.com/

Katzingers is the best Deli around! http://www.katzingers.com/

North Star Cafe is really good! http://www.thenorthstarcafe.com/

Link to Starliner Dinner. http://starlinerdiner.com/

Barley's Brew House http://barleysbrewing.com/ Go on a Friday, it's Firkin Friday's. They do a beer with no preservatives served out of small batches at cellar temperature. I think they usually do a small keg and once it's gone it's gone! The one in grandview is a smoke house and has excellent pulled pork, chicken, and beef briquette.

The Elevator http://www.elevatorbrewing.com/ Most amazing place I've ever eaten. I cry a little inside every time I go in there and look at the stained glass angle, it's seriously moving to me for some reason... or maybe that's the beer. Get the Rock Fillet with the house salad (has candied almonds, nix the blue cheese unless you like that crap) with a Bleeding Buckeye Red Ale.

I'm a fat man at heart so I'll post more as I remember them. Support local shit!

Damn it I'm hungry now.

Best Italian in town. Their handmade spaghetti & meatballs is incredible. http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/33/370958/restaurant/Franklinton/Florentine-Columbus

Be forewarned, it's in the Bottom's but more than worth it. I just don't suggest going there when it's dark out.

It's not that scary, it's what 1/4 mile to spaghetti wharehouse? anyway it's definitely good eats, and you can still get a pretty nice bottle of wine for $20

-Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant on N. High. (Sadly they're closing soon, but it's delicious and the owner is the friendliest guy you'll meet.)

-Anna's on Sawmill.

-Big Fat Greek Cuisina on Fishinger's.

-Tony's and Schmidt's in German Village.
