Trouble Maker
First of congrats to the the Buckeye Bullet II team. They shatered the record for hydrogen fuel celled powered vehicles in bonneville last week with a 302 MPH run. My understanding is that the students worked very, very hard to make this happen in almost literally the 59th minute of the 11th hour. http://www.buckeyebullet.com/ http://blog.buckeyebullet.com/2009/09/record.html There was a new record set for bikes at, IIRC 368MPH. I also learned about this http://www.bloodhoundssc.com/ It's the same guys who did the Thrust SSC (current land speed record holder at 760mph). It has a V8 to pump the fuel for the rocket and their target is 1000mph or around 30% faster than the current record held by their old car. Dr. Apex
I saw a show about the Buckeye Bullitt not long ago, very cool stuff especially coming from college students. I think of a more fun way to learn things than by participating in a project like that.

Buckeye1647545503
It is cool to see osu kids are changing the auto industry. The car makers have to be watching and seeing it has useable ideas
Trouble Maker
And that motorcycle guy has balls! Some year I'm going to make it to speed week. I guess it was some guy who's a pro racer with something like six titles. Can't remember the name. It's actually a two wheel streamliner. They had to have less than 3mph sidewinds to run. I will definitely go out there at some point.
