...I have been dumped in super flat Ohio and trying not to go insane.

Welcome, Max. Sharp car, good intro. I hope to see you at CR events.

And just stop struggling against the insanity. Once you give in to it, things go a lot smoother for you here in Ohio. ;)

I am warming up to Ohio. I have been to Hocking Hills area numerous times and is beautiful! Where I am in Dublin, a little boring. I have thought about AutoX, I just don't like the idea of going somewhere for 6 hours and getting to drive for only 6 minutes. I will look into those links 31rx7, thanks. I know some of the BMW and Porsche clubs get some more time in, so I need to look into that a bit.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Anyone else here have an MR2 (besides Crossle)?

Hey Crossle!! Thanks for introducing me here. It is a pain to actually get to see the real content of this site with this initiation jargon.

I am also part of http://www.mr2oc.com. I teach high school, enjoy hiking with the dog, moutain bikin, RC Helicopters, and building things with power tools. I have been here in Ohio for about 3 years now.

I also have a few videos of my car at Mid Ohio. I run the HPDE group2 sessions there:

And of course, one can never post enough pictures!

Now I have been dumped in super flat Ohio and trying not to go insane. I have taken up track days at Mid Ohio with 12 days so far. Might head farther from home this summer to Putnam possibly.

Welcome Max. Nice car. I remember when they first came out, I was in college and wanted one bad.

As others have said, don't think Ohio is flat. Go east and south and you'll be right at home in the twisties and on hills. Within 30 minutes of us in Dublin, you'll be having the time of your life. Just beware of the PO-PO on major roads like 23, 71, 270 and 315. Over time you'll get to know the remote roads that are far less traveled and hardly ever patrolled.

Agreed on the track time. At the driver's schools, you usually get plenty of track time so you might want to check out one of those. Keep an eye on the schedules as several of us on here autocross and I am sure would be happy to put you in the passeger's seat.
