I can't seem to find a single toy that my dog won't destroy in short notice. Seems like years ago when I had Pits that there were better heavy duty toys--or maybe I am just not educated enough yet. These usually last a month or two at least, whereas other chew toys don't make it a week usually. The material also doesn't absorb slobber like a lot of things. His favorite bone so far is Pet Pride Rawhide roll from Kroger. It is about 2 feet long? He has it completed chewed up in about 3 days but they are so cheap it is ok. This is the only toy we have found that was practically indestructable. The older versions had a hole in the center you could put treats in. It is the only toy my uncles English bulldog could not destroy. My mom bought one for her chocolate lab and it is the only thing she cant destroy. He does this until it pulls apart then he keeps at it until the whole toy is destroyed. They do last longer then normal toys but not long enough for my dog. It's a Kong covered in nylon basically. That's my #1 pick. Also, it will totally gross you out at what they are, but check out bully sticks. Good for chewing for long periods of time but not really a toy I guess (just more of a distraction I suppose, good for puppies)... The new kongs seem less strong then the older ones. X-mas came around and they had 3 toys ripped up and the squeakers rolling on the floor in about a minutes time. Mine will split a tennis ball in 2 in one bite and thinks it is quite funny. Anyway, Kongs are the way to go. And don't get the red ones, get the black ones if they are heavy/strong chewers. Also a good rope toy works pretty well. I still end up replacing all my dogs toys about every 6 months because they are all destroyed. I meant a real tire. her dog is APBT, so yes, she is a powerful chewer.. other things we give her that seem to make her happy, are empty soda bottles.. with the caps on... she loves to take the caps off. But anything with a squeaker, particularly my Lab Sandi, she had to get that squeaker out. Now that they're older, they rarely chew that stuff. They sleep most of the time now... My dog is not nearly as destructive to his toys as what you guys are talking about.
